    Week 12: Indianapolis Colts(7-3) @ Arizona Cardinals(6-4)

I'm slacking on the Colts game threads lately. Let's get this one going.

Palmer just found Fitz for a 4 yard TD pass on the opening drive. 7-0 Cards.

3rd straight week we've fallen behind by double digits in the 1st half.

    And now a pick 6. 24-3 Cards...

Colts getting outscored 90-12 in the 1st half of the last 4 games. There really are no words to describe how bad the Colts have been in the 1st half of the last 4 games.

Cardinals offense has been clicking the last month. Its been great to see the line look like horse **** and now have been serviceable. Big improvement

Anyone still wanna sleep on the cards?

You're right.. 4th straight game. Forgot about the Texans game.

            Anyway this team sucks. lol.

I know injuries have played a role here, but I'm not understanding how we have fallen so far this quick. The Rams and Cards aren't terrible teams, but it's alarming to have gotten blown out by both of them. This team looks nothing like the one that beat Denver and Seattle.

I said it before but the Cards were a very quiet 6-4 team. I guess this win (if they hang on which it looks like) will make people take notice.

Overall....It's been a WEIRD week in the NFL.

They are back in the playoff picture for that 2nd wild card now, they need to beat the 49ers in their second meeting though.

Yeah Cards are not gonna do anything until they start winning division games. That niners game is the last game of the season too. Oh boy

Next week is a huge test for the Cardinals against the hot Eagles in Philly. Cards have a bad history traveling in the east when its cold, we'll see how this team holds up.

Though the Colts didn't look good today, they still have control of the division. AFC south is atrocious

And people disagreed with me about my thoughts on that trade. Sure it's nice having a skill position player with the talent Trent has(or might have... he's been awful but I don't think it's all on him), but we have bigger needs...clearly. RB's in this league don't win you games. If we're going to win a Super Bowl it's not going to be because of Trent Richardson. It's going to be because we improved our defense and cut the high schoolers that are on our offensive line and signed/drafted guys who can actually play. And made some coaching changes. Not saying fire Chuck, but this team comes out looking so unprepared every week. Pep Hamilton should at least be gone.

Either way that 1st round pick is looking really nice right now. I'm sure the Browns are glad to have it.

Trade was made before Wayne got hurt, as well as some other guys... and the Colts are still a playoff team. They are seriously struggling though.

I think people, like me, that disagree with what you said isn't bc of ignoring the other needs. I just still see it as a trade that doesn't effect how they handle those other things. I don't want to down play the value of an early draft pick, but late in the first round, there's no guarantee it'd address anything else you've mentioned. Hell, at that point where teams often go best available, they may have drafted a RB anyway. The pick may be higher now they that are struggling but still.

It also seems strange that Trent is getting hit before even getting to the line a lot. I see that more than him not making the proper moves. I wouldn't expect him to be great at this point, but I still wouldn't be surprised if he's MUCH better next year.

And yeah, like I said in another thread, the Cards are far from awful. It seems every year they are written off no matter how they've done. They've been on the cusp of the playoffs yearly and are again. If they can keep protecting Palmer they're a legit threat. But I don't see them playing well on the road so I think they'll remain too inconsistent to get completely over the hump.

I don't know man. Our O-line is so bad and our defense still needs some help. We could use that 1st rounder on someone. I see what you're saying but I also see the possibility of that 1st rounder turning into a great offensive lineman or LBer etc.

And as for Trent, I agree with you. Like I said it's not all on him. I don't think he's a bad player. He's running into a wall every time and Pep Hamilton isn't helping any either with his playcalling. It is strange that Brown comes in and bursts for 10 yards every ****ing time, though. Herron did the same thing at the end of that game today. It's like the only players who can succeed behind this o-line are players with enough speed to keep from getting tackled right away. lol.

Haven't done the research but it seems like most good linemen are had early in the first round and then later in the draft. I can think of at least one (Pouncy, PIT) who went around where Indy would be picking and I'm sure there are more, but players aren't generally targeted in that spot, they fall there.

It is more likely that a good defender could have been the choice there, but it still doesn't really change my thoughts on it. I don't know what's up with Trent. Maybe he isn't reading his blockers well enough yet, they need to adjust the plays that fit him better, whatever (edit for OSUFan... maybe he is just a bust). All I know is I can see how they would think an experienced RB with potential is worth a late 1st round pick for a team that is winning with the Stanford style gameplan and offensive attack.
