Frustrated with Stopping the running game on ALL MADDEN!!

Any tips from you defensive guru's?? Marshawn Lynch from the Seahwawks is killin me!! I can't seem to stop him on ALL MADDEN to save my life!! Uuugh!!

it is going to be like that no matter who are going against on all-madden. my suggestion is to super-sim while the cpu has the ball.

I suggest you just stop playing All Madden.

Find a slider set thats challenge but not idioticly hard

He best was is pinch your line and crash in the middle since lynch runs mostly up the middle. With Seattle I fimd it best to worry about the run more than he pass. Hopefully to also contain Russel Wilson. They don't really have a down field attack so play close to the LOS. Also don't go for hit stick tackles since he tends to shrug those off on All Madden especially. Go for a standard tackle. You're still gonna give up a lot of yards but that should make it easier to contain him and hopefully keep them in passing third downs where you can play the pass amd not worry about Lynch so much. Hope that helps.

Whats been killin me is the oline blocking 3 players 25 yrds down the field. Leveling all in their parh lol. Im gettong better those. I need to rely on just a few defensive sets and adjust accordingly. Im also abit heavy on the hit stick.

Its a hard habit to break but itll keep down a lot of bigger runs from broken tackles. Also usering a safety helps out a lot. You may give up a few deeper passes but itll help to keep lynch in check.

I just had the same problem today. Marshawn Lynch ran for 275 & 5TD's :| & Then I played the bills & CJ Spiller had 239 & 4TD's .... All Madden run defense is impossible !

Also usering a safety helps out a lot. You may give up a few deeper passes but itll help to keep lynch in check.

Download the 3rd patch. They haven't said anything about the defense, but I swear the dline is FINALLY doing something and the LB play is spot on.

not a good suggestion because im KILLIN all pro.. i just need to learn to be more disipline when it comes to my defensive adjustments and angling off runners. ive got much better since starting this post. ive also learn to allow my cpu controlled defenders tackle the ball carrier first, slow him down or take out potential blocker. dont always try to switch to the closest defender immediatly or make the first tackle...

I hate comments like this. If the post was along the lines of **** all madden its cheating blah blah blah sure that comment could be relevant but if someone is asking a legit question all that comment does is take up forum space and not provide anything useful.

For me stopping the run like others have stated is laying off the hitstick a little and I also tend to shift the Dline and/or LBers to the strong side of the field(not crashing just sliding them over) and then usering either the backside LBer or the backside safety. I now do really good against below avg to avg RB's and the elite RB's I can hold to a around 100-150. Still more than I'd like to give up but it's an elite RB so it's kinda to be expected. Most of the 100-150 comes from the RB finally getting a break and getting a 50+ yd run on me.

any ratings to work on that help your players stop the run? should i have all my d line men have higher block shedding, power moves, finesse moves?

With elite running teams/backs it's not easy. But I found learning how to be a skilled user along the DL...especially the DT position is huge. Also stay at home and anticipate the flow of the running play.

Another tip is if your defensive line is starting to tire....use your package sub to sub your entire DL for a set of downs or two on a long grinding drive. It makes a huge difference in slowing down a team steamrolling you with the running game. Fatigue is really nice this year and IMO EA has done a terrific job with it. (If only formation subs worked better then it would be A+ perfect).

I love playing DL on this years Madden game. For me it has been a blast. And everything I am reading about the PS4 version has me giddy as far as the trench warefare being taken to a better interaction level.


M25 for me has been the clear champ along the OL/DL this gen. The running game is fantastic, and stopping the run is a challenge.....as it should be.


And yes having a solid slider set is a must for All-Madden. There are quite a few great sets available. try a few out (for at least 5-6 games each) and tweak from there.
