Seriously???!!!!

The Patriots had their LT Nate Solder (90 overall)on the trade block and that was perfect as I let my LT because he was getting old and demanding a lot of money and the guy I drafted doesn't look to promising. So I offered them a 2nd round pick for him. They declined it. Next thing I know, Solder was traded to another team. I look at Transactions to see what he got traded for and he was traded to the Rams for a 6th round pick! So they declined my offer of a 2nd rounder for a 6th rounder? This guy is 26 years old and rated 90 overall. What's going on around here?

Boldin was traded to SF for a 6th round pick.... maybe the Pats and Rams have some type of special brotherly bond where they scratch each others backs?

i generally find the trades quite realistic once you get past the fact that teams with $50m in cap space will be looking to trade their best OL guy or will cut a good player.

Did you offer a sixth?

Re: Seriously???!!!!

I never made a second offer. I offered the 2nd rounder and they said they would respond in a week. Then under my "Actions" screen, it said they declined the trade and had traded the player already. So I went to see if maybe he got traded for a First round pick or something and, to my surprise and dismay, it said he was traded for a 6th round pick to the Rams. I don't even understand what kind of logic that is, even for the CPU.

When you get the trade block message then if you make an offer off of that message you get one chance. If you go and do the normal trade area with that player than you can do multiple trade offers.

Re: Seriously???!!!!

First off, let me say I get Boldin was traded to SF for a sixth round, but that was a brotherly trade and you don't trade your starting LT for 6th round pick, especially when he's got as high a ceiling as Nate Solder does and why would the Rams even been looking for a LT when they just signed Jake Long to a long term deal this offseason. I tend to want to not argue dumb trades and chalk it up to X team making a mistake, not bad CPU programming, but that's pretty bad.

If you want a guy on the trade block do it with a regular trade.

Could it be that the guy didn't fit your scheme and was a better fit for the other team?

I don't see why that would matter. Teams won't care how players they trade away fits in your scheme. I think people are missing the OP's point. The CPU shot down a 2nd round pick but accepted a 6th. That's screwed up man. Yes, Boldin was traded for a 6th, but if Seattle offered a 2nd, the Ravens would have sent him there. I don't care how much you like the other team, no front office would ever pass up a 2nd rounder for a 6th.

That's exactly what I mean.

What team are you using?
Maybe your team is a conference rival & they want nothing to do with trading with a rival.

This might make this trade more believable.
No coach/GM want to see a player they traded do well with a conference rival, & have that player rub it in their face every time they play each other.

Nope. I'm Carolina trying to trade with the Patriots. Not even the same conference. I actually don't make trades with teams in my division because of what you said.

LMFAO. I don't mean to laugh but this is Madden dude. You really believe they may have programmed trade logic like that?

I also don't understand why so many are trying to make excuses for a game with pretty bad trade logic (in some occurrences).

Attention to details like this are something Madden's never been able to program.

It baffles me that a computer would mess up such a simple decision. A second round pick has a higher value than a sixth round pick. Why on earth would it turn down the higher value for the lower value? It's not even an objective decision about a player and how he fits into a scheme or his age or contract. This is simple A is valued higher than B. How can something like that be programmed into the game?
