Just Bought the Game
So I just bought the game after dealing with the other basketball video game out there since I got my PS4. I've heard a lot of good things about Live lately and how it has really improved. Do you guys have any tips on how to best enjoy this game and really get the most out of it? Also, how is Dynasty Mode in Live?Tags: None -

I'll let one of the others who are more experienced with the game than me give you some specifics. However my 2cents worth would be learn the controls, stick with the game and enjoy the fact that it's very different.
Not exactly ground breaking stuff I know but like I said there are some here that are better placed than myself to advise you further.

Re: Just Bought the Game
NBA Live is not a perfect game, does it have it's shortcomings? yes it does, but it is some of the most fun I had in awhile playing a b-ball game. So just keep playing it and try to remember that it is a different game then it's comp, and also have fun while doing so...Get at me on PS4 or Xbox 1 RonRac2Comment

I'm still learning things and I've been playing the game nonstop for a month.
Then work on your defense. Don't rely heavily on the L2 defensive stance button. Use angles and positioning to defend.
It's a different experience than what we're all used to, and if you try to play it in the same way as 2k, you probably won't be very successful.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Just Bought the Game
like wtf said experiment before worrying about the score. for your first few games turn off the shot clock so you have plenty of time to get used to how things work. learn the controls and it will be a very rewarding experience. i played my first few games against a friend who had the game and thought i had a good grasp on it. then i got the game for myself and played the cpu. i still have a lot to learn lol.Comment

Re: Just Bought the Game
My suggestion is, go into a game, and don't worry about the score until you get comfortable with the controls. Experiment with the controller until you get comfortable with the player movement and controls. The amount of control that you have is pretty deep, so try to experiment and get familiar with what is at your disposal.

Re: Just Bought the Game
I honestly gave up on it at launch and I thought I got screwed out of 60 bucks. But With some patience, and the tweaks that have been made, I'm kind of enjoying myself. It's still a bit herkey jerkey to me sometimes and I wish it played a bit faster, and need some sliders and roster edit options, but I'm actually glad I didn't get rid of it like I was planning. If you really indulge yourself into how deep it actually is and love basketball, there is some worthwhile moments that might want you to be glad you have it too.Comment

Re: Just Bought the Game
I have actually tried the demo and have been thinking of buying it with all the problems with 2k. I have some questions though.
Offense. In the demo I haven't figured out how to call any plays yet. So every time I come down the court I am in a 3 out 2 in look and there is no movement by any players. I pass to the wing, everyone stands, I pass to the post, everyone stands. I shouldn't have to call plays for players to have ball sense and move. Is this something that has been addressed with a patch that maybe isn't available with the demo?
What are the franchise mode and rising star mode like?
The fluidity of how the ball is handled is actually refreshing. Also I think the players move a lot smoother than on 2k. They aren't as rigid in their movements. Is there any info on when the graphics patch will come out?DSM Transfer.

Re: Just Bought the Game
No info on a graphics patch yet.
The first part of your question, the auto motion isn't available in the demo for whatever reason. Once switching it on, it makes a world of difference, even without calling plays.
I'll let others chime in on the other questions.
I really enjoy the Dynasty mode, but I don't need a ton of bells and whistles. I'm basic in that realm.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Just Bought the Game
The plays are rudimentary. Playing the competitor's game feels like basketball. It plays more fundamental basketball than the NBA! Can't say the same for live. There is no life to the game.

Re: Just Bought the Game
why are you in the live forum? you clearly dont like the game so why troll around to tell other people that you dont like it?Comment

Re: Just Bought the Game
You might not believe it but outside of this little bubble there are alot more people who dont like the product they got than those who do.
I don't care if we agree or disagree, but the word troll is starting to become an abused word on this forum and it should not be a basis for people jumping on other people's heads for their opinion right? Like it or not, agree with it or not that is his opinion.Comment
