Is 2K slowly taking away features to force online play?
It seems like 2K is slowly taken away our offline choices and experience for online. They are taking away our choice to choose which way we want to play. The removal of Association and the create a player seem like an indication of what is to come for fans of offline and customization freedom.Poe is an advocate for realistic boxing videogames.Tags: None -
Re: Is 2K slowly taking away features to force online play?
I think they spent all of their time incorporating MyGM and the additions to MyCareer on a fresh slate.
If next-gen 2K14 was a port, I think we'd have all of those features implemented.
Simultaneous developments of current-gen & next-gen, in one studio might have been a little silly. It was obviously easier for them to get the current-gen 2K14 done, because it was built on a foundation they already have.
This next-gen version of the series feels rushed.
I wouldn't be surprised if all of those features re-appeared next year...I'm just not sure if I'm gonna buy it. -

I only have the Next Gen version. Are these missing features in pass generation?I think they spent all of their time incorporating MyGM and the additions to MyCareer on a fresh slate.

Having just began a MyGM mode, it seems to be just a more amped up Association mode with several additions that will probably become tedious for people not wanting to handle all of the new features. Either way, they actually spent more time adding this instead of just porting over the traditional association mode.Comment

In association mode, you can control more than just one team if you want to. You can't in mygm, you can only control one team.Having just began a MyGM mode, it seems to be just a more amped up Association mode with several additions that will probably become tedious for people not wanting to handle all of the new features. Also in association mode you don't need stupid VC to do simple things like change your line up or sign and trade players. Everything is locked in myGM mode.
In MYGM mode if you sim games you don't get VC, so you have to play every game to be able to unlock everything, good luck with playing 5-10 years deep in mygm mode like you can in association mode.
If you could control more than one team in MYGM and it didn't force VC upon everyone, I don't think anyone would have an issue with MYGM mode. But those two things basically ruin the game experience and turn people off.Comment

The Association mode has not been removed, they have stated several times while making the NG that not all features will be in the first version. The association mode is suppose to be there for the NG version of 2k15. I will give credit where credit is due, I think EA learned from the 360 launch and made sure their versions had those features but with 2k going the route of making a new version for the NG caused them to hit the reset button and sorry to say it will take them some time to get all the features we are familiar with.Comment

In the mean time they should just patch out using VC in GM mode, and that would appease 90% of the people. If they had GM Mode only with no VC and let us control more than one team, Idont think many would be complaining about GM mode. The Association mode has not been removed, they have stated several times while making the NG that not all features will be in the first version. Because if they bring association mode back yet force us to use VC, those same people will be complaining.Comment

Re: Is 2K slowly taking away features to force online play?
I still am confused by why people feel they have to purchase VC coins to play GM mode. I don't agree with 100% on the stuff they are having us purchase like edit your lineup and firing people. However I have been able to unlock quite a bit of the stuff I need without spending money on VC. And I don't want to hear the story about how I don't have time to do it blah blah blah. I was able to play enough to get what I needed while working quite a bit during December because of the holiday season. I think to many people are putting the blame on VC when its not right. Simply put I think 2k could had handled the online thing better with the servers. However I recall the same thing can happen with the CG versions as well, the main difference is you have the option to convert it to an offline version if you want and continue playing where we don't have that option, which I don't agree with. However I don't believe they did that because of the VC, I think there was quite a bit of reasons they did it this way. I also believe they would had done it differently if they knew the problems that happened where gonna happen.Comment

No one said you have to BUY VC to play GM Mode but you have to use VC and get it by playing GM mode to unlock simple things. And Like I said if you are one of those people like me and many others that sim most of the games in GM mode and just like to do the GM stuff you can't because you don't get VC for simming games.I still am confused by why people feel they have to purchase VC coins to play GM mode. Its one thing to have VC for my player because that you need it to add attributes to your player to level up so to speak.
But in a GM mode there is no reason to have VC at all.Comment
