2K covers 1999-2014: Compare, and it shows the problem
![]() ![]() The first cover athlete was a scrappy player. He made mistakes, but you knew what you were going to get every night with him. he would bust his ***. He was small and playing against the big boys, but his natural talent and hard work beat them. Now compare it to 2K14. A player, admittedly an elite one, who is totally consumed by his own glory. Look at the 'pose'. Totally oblivious. Concerned only with his own 'regality'. Rather than focusing on the task (or at least looking towards the consumer buying the game), the cover athlete is too busy basking in his own greatness. #reign. That half-wit Ronnie was too busy telling us how great it was, talking about its greatness. He didnt show us. This is a perfect analogy of where 2K was and where it is. It used to be the small guy, battling the big guys. Now that it won, it's full of hubris and arrogance. Consumed by its own meta-narrative of greatness, rather than remembering how it got there. To use Australian terminology, its become a wanker. A massive, wanker. |
