    Speed threshold

Can someone explain to me how the speed threshold works in 25? Like I always been putting mine to 0 cause I thought that creats the speed differences but when doing a Seahawks franchise I'm noticing that I can't out run anyone using Wilson. The defensive line chases me down and act like they are faster. So should I move the slider above 50 or what?

To me speed threshold is nothing more than a pursuit slider

Zero is the best you can have it....meaning at zero your fast guys will be as fast as they possibly can. Per say....15-20 is realistic/gives you a mix. I'm still not sure myself.

You have it backwards. The lower the number the harder it is for any slider. I.E. 100 would be the fastest you can possibly get.

Not sure what the guy above me is going on about.

I would say that the sliders work in conjunction with each other, so if you have a high defensive reaction time then this will mitigate the effect of a low minimum speed level. I think tackling also effects how difficult it is to run by players.

Never put mines alway down to 0. Kept it at about 20-35. Will try 0 though.

actually 75-100 is much closer to reality.

At 0, you don't need much of a numerical advantage to gain a huge separation advantage against the computer.

I like how it was explained back when this was added in Madden 10:

0-25 feels more like high school football.

25-75 feels more like college football

              75-100 feels like NFL football.

I play on 100 personally, but 75 is probably more fun and realistic. Part of the problem is that there is no engaged player lateral movement on the line of scrimmage like in real life. That will also allow outside runs to be more effective than they should be.

If you are having problems escaping with Wilson, it sounds more like containment and pursuit rather than speed. Do a play action roll out, a read option, or a QB wrap and you should find his speed is still very good even at 100.

On the default All-Pro and 50 threshold the read option is WAY over powered and it is very easy to go 80 yards for a score when the D plays the HB and you keep it.
