    ESPN License

Now that 2K baseball is out of the picture...... I wonder if this opens the door for The Show to get the ESPN License at some point. They seem to have a good relationship, as The Show has been featured on a segment on Baseball Tonight many times in the past. Just dreaming lol

I thought EA purchased the ESPN license. If the Show was going to go in a direction I am sure it would be the way of the MLB Network.

Yea I know EA has the ESPN license for basketball, but I wonder if it applies to all sports because MLB2K actually had the ESPN license baseball-wise. I personally wouldn't care, both ESPN & MLB Network are awesome Lol

That deal gave EA exclusive rights to use the ESPN brand for any sport. 2005 would have been the last time 2k would have had access to it.

Wow, I could've sworn 2K still used it for baseball, but I just checked & you're right. MLB Network would indeed be the perfect way for MLB The Show to go, it'll make the game even more amazing if it ever happens.

The show will have competition this year after all. Major League Baseball has purchased the rights to the R.B.I baseball and plans to make its on game; plans to release it on all platforms. So I would think with MLB making its on game all the licensing would go with it. So R.B.I Baseball 14 is coming

Lmao…........highly doubt R.B.I. Baseball will be Sim. Rumors are it'll be arcade style baseball most likely. But we will wait and see on that.

Even if it were sim, would it really be competition to the show regardless Lol

Yeah probably won't be. Doubt they've had a 1 year cycle to build the game. This is just so XBOX gets a baseball game just like last year.

I hope not. I cannot stand ESPN any more. And honestly, why is there a need for it when most major sports have their own network. Why should I sit through NBA highlights to wait and see hockey highlights when I can just turn to the NHL network. I hope they team up with MLB network

Yeah, I agree with you 100%. Every major sport has their own network, & the more I think about it, the more I would love MLB Network integration 100 times more than ESPN integration. I mean, the show already has Matty V, they might be on that route

Saying RBI is competition for the Show is like saying a Ford Focus is competition for a Ferrari........ Any Ferrari!
At least 2K was a sports car...... a broken down beat up Mustang... but still a sports car!
