A little non essential thing I miss from an old 2k game I wish they'd bring back

Anybody remember (especially the 30 ish gamers) the 2k with Ben Wallace on the front. They had this cool thing where one game or a few his hair was out and then next game his hair would be braided. Iverson braids changed also. I wish they'd bring that back. You could have rough beard LeBron then clean cut beard LeBron then playoff goatee LeBron and the same with wade. A few other players too nothing crazy but just to add to a great game.

I believe they currently do something similar in J. R. Smith's sneakers change from Jordan to Nike. I think during home games he wears J's and on the road he wears Nike, or the opposite. I'm almost positive of it. I know they did months ago, but it's possible a patch removed said feature.

More customization like this would be awesome though.

I agree, it was a great little touch. I always thought it'd also be cool if gamers could control which look they wanted to see. For instance, regarding Ben Wallace, I imagined his "Edit Player" screen having a hairstyle option, where gamers could select between "Hair 1" and "Hair 2" (cornrows vs. afro).

I thought having the ability to change styles might also help for those times when players get a crazy haircut and 2K is then forced to decide whether he'll keep it long enough to warrant giving him that 'do in 2K or whether they hedge their bets and assume he'll be back to normal by the time a new 2K releases. This way, 2K could give Al Harrington his '07 playoffs mo-hawk but then retain his original cut too, in case the mo-hawk didn't last (I know, it's a dated example, but it's always the first to come to mind for some reason).

for my part Scottie Pippen didn't have the same hair style every game.

and no need to speak of dennis rodman!!!!

Another example would be having multiple facial hair options to accommodate players who mix it up and have a good chance of one day reverting to their prior style.

The thing about that is WE don't have the ability to do that, we can't add different shoes to each other for road n home games.

Awesome idea I think giving us a choice 2 choose hairstyle would be cool, the more we can customize the better!

Would be a nice touch. Brook Lopez gets a haircut like twice a year so having him start the season

                  During the season

                  His all-star weekend haircut

And the rest of the season is more or less the second picture

Nicolas Batum switches between beard and no beard and also shaves his head etc.

I've had an idea like this for years. Come playoff time teams could have playoff beards too. It should be easy for them to do.

I miss those days. Ben Wallace's afro was like a home court ritual. He always wore the afro out at home and braids away. It was nice to see that in the game.

Would it be possible for 2K to simply update a player's new look while keeping their previous look on file?

Not only would it be nice to be able to choose between looks, but it'd be neat to have the option to randomize as well. That is, Ben Wallace set to "random" would switch between cornrows and an afro just as the original poster suggested, while the user would still have the ability to choose the style themselves if they chose to do so.
