    2014 OSFM: Boston Red Sox

I'll be doing the Red Sox again this year for the OSFM Rosters. This will be the place to go for updates, discussion, resources, etc. regarding the OSFM Red Sox.

Most of my work will be based off of information from the following:

http://soxprospects.com/ - great info on all things Red Sox prospect info

    http://soxprospects.com/2014.htm - projected 2014 Roster Assignments

I am a Baseball America subscriber, so I will also be using information from BA for sure along with milb.com and other prospect ratings and websites

With Dempster deciding to take a year off and this being the final year of his contract (can't remember for sure), I would probably just throw him in free agency and give a prospect his spot in the set.

yes dempster in FA is a good move to open a extra spot for a prospect. and when will you start to compile a list of players?

Not putting too much stock into a spring training game, but Ranaudo pitched an impressive 2 innings against the Twins today. 6 up, 6 down, 4 strikeouts.

Bryce Brentz has looked impressive so far in his rebound from missing last year's camp due to shooting himself

Last year some of sox prospect were generic looking. But everything else was fine.I had fun using barnes and bogaerts .

All the top prospects are done with great detail

All the mid range prospects are done well

All the low end prospects are done accurately but by the end of the project - I'm not spending ridiculous amounts of time shaving cheek bones for some scrub who might never see AA ball or is ranked #52 in the sox system. The scrub prospects will have the right skin color, hair, likeness, etc. but to expect them to get the same detail as Bogaerts is insane.

Victorino might abandon switch hitting this year and bat from the right side. I don't think its set in stone but its looking like Shane is leaning towards hitting righty. Will you edit him so he's strictly a RH batter or will you keep him as a switch hitter?

I hear ya, even though I've never done a roster, I have sat here and edited players for hours and then never use them. It's just the OCD in me lol... Recently I have tamed myself to only edit the players when Im ready to use them or close to it

BTW Ive greatly enjoyed your rosters for the past couple years, you do a great job as always... Looking forward to it again!

                            TNKNGM,
Just wondering if you have come up with a 90 man roster? If so do you mind showing us? Thanks
