In what area will 2K make its next big leap?

2K made a few leaps in the last gen. The post game (except that year they took the post button out); the dribbles moves mapped to one stick (finalised this year); the sig styles/jumpshots. Im sure there's others.

What things do you think 2K should focus on? What do you think they will focus on?

    Ill outline 2 they should.

    1. Passing. It's terrible. They are floaty, imprecise and just generally ****. Other than the bounce passes, they've been stagnant for years.

    2. Physical interactions reflect actual attributes. This has gotten better and better but is still far from perfect. SLow bigs can still keep up with fast guards, guards can still be brick walls even if bigs are coming at them. Physical interactions need their own sig styles, basically.

    3. I was going to put fast breaks as a 3rd choice, but I realise they are a reflection of the above 2 problems. Its impossible to pass the ball quickly, and defenders can stop offensive players in their tracks when they shouldnt.

Do you have any other suggestions?

I think they should focus on improving what they have and fixing bugs, game modes, server issues etc. I think they will focus on more useless bells and whistles and how to try and suck more money out of the consumer.

Sorry to be honest, but I'm so dissatisfied with this title. It's my opinion that encouraging their efforts to impress us further via 'new stuff' is just enabling their current behaviour, leaving us partially to blame when next we receive a broken title.

I think they will do something big for Defense and make the ball a physical object on it's own.

Let's just hope they will focus on producing a game that is not so filled with glitches and on a better/less frustrating VC economy. €70 Should buy you a game that is fun to play and should not make you even think about spending even more money so you can, for instance, change the lineup in your own MyGM team.

In 2027 they will announce a new, ahead of it's time feature. The ability for both players in an online game to change their settings at the same time.

It's only 13 years from now, be a little patient. Even though PES5 had this on the PS2 9 years ago.

They don't need to work on nothing but getting the attributes and signature skills right for all players first I think that every team needs a 2k insider of there own

Soundtrack! Im almost sure they will use a lot of resources on the soundtrack. Watch! Not trolling because it is true.
Playing NBA 2K feels like a job that pays minimum wage and then cuts your pay when you get your Bill's right to make it even harder to succeed. I do not like this game but it's the only one in town.

They really could improve on relative player speed and fast breaks. I can't remember the last time I actually had an unmolested fast break, where my speedy guard actually fully outran the slow, lumbering centers. All of my fast break dunks have come with a defender just barely one step behind me trying to contest the shot.

I hate the soundtrack, Live soundtrack is so much better. Basketball is not Daft Punk, I like their music but it's not basketball music. I'd rather not listen to anything if I have to hear 2k's soundtrack, I think 2k is trying to appeal to too many audiences. The soundtrack should be mostly hip-hop and rap, but as it is right now it's horrible.

Next Big Step should be in the Online department, and the modes included in 2k.
If 2k wants you to be online all the time, why not make sure your servers can handle the amount of people playing your games? This has been somewhat of a plague of the Franchise since its inception on the Dreamcast.

                          hey, remember me?

But yeah...the modes available for the games are never fully operable, and even the ones that are, are barely playable.

                          Online team-up
                          Myteam
                          Blacktop
                          The association

All these modes need to be working from day one.
not after 4 patches and 3 months later.
2K just sold over 5 million copies of their latest version of NBA 2k

so im sure with all that money 2k just made off of us, they can dedicate the time & the man hours
to get this game running with all modes working right out the gate.

                          Fix The Bells and whistles
How come in 2014 we cant save settings in an online game? This just doesnt make any sense and 2k needs to address this moving forward.

How about bringing back isomotion controls? Even though you guys took 4 years to implement right stick dribbling, give us the option of being able to have REAL alternate button combinations to choose from. I mean the dribbling is cool, but i feel like in nba 2k10, and nba 2k11 i could really move the hell out of somebody with the isomotion dribble moves. Nowadays...not so much...i mean, there's better representation of defense in the game, but my opponent should always feel like if i have ball handler with a high HANDLE+off hand dribble rating, that they should always feel like they might get dropped on their backside, because of my ball handling skills.
In this game, all i see is people run left
                          run right
                          run left again
                          call for a screen
then run in the opposite direction so they drive to the rim, or hoist a three from China. This is a ridiculous strategy that has been seen more and more since 2k11 where they last had true isomotion dribbling....i liked the direction and the mount of iso dribbling you had in 2k12, but i had no one to test my dribbling skills against because i was a fan of myplayer, and for some odd reason, 2k decided to not release an online mode for your myplayer that year.
                          go figure...

                          Speaking of which....

More Crossover Animations and Broke Ankle animations
If you were to increase the rate at which someone would get their ankles broken from a sick crossover, that would make the game more authentic.
Even if 2k improves the fluidity of the right stick dribbling, we need to see how effective and powerful the crossover dribble is. Offense should beat defense every single time. I dont care if you put a LBJ, or Paul George on the perimeter, if theres someone who handle the ball, they should be able to move the defender at will, especially if the USER knows how to setup an opponent for a nice crossover.

here are a few examples of what i mean thsat 2k needs to implement creating more space for crossover dribbles and putting more power back into the offensive players hands.

                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/g-J8sWYOk_0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_PYk_Jw_CDM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Allow Iverson to come in and Use this guys crossover animations. Bring Kyrie, steph curry, tony parker, Tyreke Evans, Chris Paul to show you how to get this done.

                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/AaVFdK8afss" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                          Whatever happened to Signature Layups?
2k needs to bring 360 layups back...the jamal crawford shimmy shake, the tony parker crazy acrobatic layups, the rondo ball fakes,etc...

                          <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/gOieGDsvseg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                          <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/3rQiglV52mk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

These layups....where have they gone? Why hasnt 2k made these layups readily available to us? Why cant they be easily performed with the flick of a stick or a one button? They make you pay for them with VC, at least give us what we pay for, sheesh!

                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/fPGHlxLp2SA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

So yeah...theres a lot 2k needs to work on IN THE FUTURE, but mostly everything i stated above should be the main focus of the team over at 2KSports.

Oh yeah, did I mention Bring back The Original Crew mode? Lol..

That changes when the engine changes, which is not likely soon since this 'new game' is essentially a port despite them claiming new build.

I think that has something to do with the defense like the lay up contact or whatever, I think it's tied to those. If you lower it then you'll see more uncontested layups and inside action.
