Ejections and Challenges

I noticed in the trailer that there was an ejection scene--- It looks like the HBP scene-- but in years past this has not be advertised etc. I am wondering if there will be more ejections in MLB 14 than the HBP/1B arguments and ejections?

Also. I have heard nothing about manager challenges-- this would be a tall order to implement, so I am assuming it will not be in until future years?

Not sure if anything has been done about ejections but I doubt we are seeing challenges especially since the MLB is getting the feel for it in Spring Training.

Thats what I'm thinking-- I don't fault SCEA at all -- was just curious if they were going to surprise us.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what trailer video was this cutscene in. I thought I had seen all the videos, but don't remember that.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that. I don't remember the catcher ever being ejected in previous versions. Then again I primarily played RTTS for the last two version so that might be why I never saw a catcher get ejected.

They have to keep everything clean and above board because mlb wants them to portray baseball as a our gentleman's game.
I'd love it if the show could do managers throwing fits and getting ejected, a button I could press to charge the mound if I get hit by a pitch, that kind of stuff. Would be even more authentic.

Trust me I would love them to add an option to charge the mound, but understand why they won't.

If you set umpires properly all calls are accurate and there is no need for a challenge.

I have a feeling the new replay system will reduce ejections except for throwing at hitters. It will also slow down the game but that's the tradeoff for getting calls accurate.

I don't know for a fact. I'm sure it has to do with MLBs wishes that they don't want suspensions added. I could be wrong, but most everything asked for by the consumer Russell and SCEA go above and beyond to add it to the game each year, so I am sure there is an issue beyond them not wanting to add it.

Just my opinion.

I think high heat should result in warning the benches.
I also think ejections an charging the mound should be in the game.
If you attach suspension to them the game won't be a mockery.

People (mainly the older demographic) can make the decisions.
Those options can be set off by default.

They should remember some of the people playing the game are older people who look for as much realism as possible. I do think they have done amazing things with this franchise.

While this is about Madden and not Mlb The Show, it shows how much influence the league has in game development, as far as how the sport is portrayed. Once again, there will be differences between MLB and the NFL, but this gives a bit of insight:

I forgot which game it was in but one of the baseball games in the past had it where if you got ejected you couldn't make any managerial decisions in the game the AI would do it for you. Also they had it where you could argue and if you didn't get ejected it gave your team a boost. I like how they did it I just don't remember what game it was in. Maybe one of the 2K games I don't know.
