That doesn't make sense. Square, Circle, and Triangle are all used for hitting. If you hold one, it's going to think you want a power swing, contact swing, or bunt.

IIRC, you do this when you have a runner at 1st and 3rd as well. If you want to steal 2nd, you hold down circle and hit L1 to take a bigger lead and L2 to take off

I can confirm that this works, BUT you have to be on Classic Baserunning I believe. It's also very weird trying to steal 2B with your batter trying to bunt while holding Triangle.

Edit to add: Now it seems to not work...it's very strange. It works at times, but I just tried it a bunch more and it wasn't working at all.

we know you CAn steal with auto base runing the issue is the CPU steals by itself and leads off getting picked off way to much

Well, not really. Right now the issue seems to be stealing on your own is either not possible, or very finnicky.

Is there any way to cut off the auto steal when you have auto baserunning selected? The cpu does not make good decsions lot of times.

Well, not really. Right now the issue seems to be stealing on your own is either not possible, or very finnicky.

I havent been able to steal with it at auto. I cant even leadoff either on my own. I really prefered how it was in the previous game with it set to auto. Cause you could steal, and you could do hit and runs this way and suicide squeezes. With it now none of that is possible, or I have figured it out yet anyway if it is.

Personally I havent had any issue with the AI stealing bases for me, if I have a good speedster they will steal and are successful, and I have yet to see a slow footed guy attempt to steal and get nailed. So no problems as far as that goes.

Would love to see them be able to patch in the way it was last year so evn on auto you could steal on your own, and do hitn runs etc at auto baserunning. If they cant or wont, Im sure i will get use to it, its definitely not a game breaker by no means for me anyway.

I am just going to have to learn how to baserun and get used to it I guess.. its frustrating but I have to get it into my head to run right after a hit and remember what damm buttons to push. this CPU going crazy with stealing all the time getting picke off is a joke

I havent noticed any players with it set to auto getting picked off a crazy amount when they attempt a steal.

Only problem I see is with it at auto you arent able to steal manually, attempt hit n runs, or a squeeze bunt. Also not being able to lead off on your own I dont like either.

I definitely prefer it like it has been in the past with auto baserunning, where you called for the steals, leadoff, hit n runs, and squeeze bunts. Maybe we will get lucky and they will patch the old way back in, but if not I can live with it like it is, as I do worry about them messing something up trying to patch the old way back in

I don't know one way or another about additional patches at this point. But if there is another patch, this fix will be in it.
