Calibration issue?
Love the game, as always incredible, but I'm getting super frustrated. My swing always lags behind a half second or full second after my analog swing motion using the controller. Not sure if it's an issue with the game, my PS 3, or TV (which is about a month old). Any ideas? Right now I'm having to end my swing as the pitcher throws the ball just to make contact.Tags: None -
Re: Calibration issue?
Does you tv have a GAME mode built in? If so, make sure you set your input on your TV where your PS3 is connected to GAME.Comment

Re: Calibration issue?
As the other have said, this is a Display lag issue. It lies with your TV.
Newer TVs have what's called "post processing". Basically, it takes the image that is being delivered to it, and then does some processing to the image to make it look as good as possible on your television.
This is great for TV and movies, but anything interactive and time sensitive, and it becomes a pain.
Most TVs have a "Game Mode", which turns off some, or all of the post processing, but unfortunately, not all TVs game modes are good enough for The Show. Some of them only slightly improve the performance, and still make the game relatively unplayable.
I have 2 fairly new TVs, one 60" Plasma, and one 40" LCD, and neither of them can play this game, even on Game Mode. I use a 22" Acer Monitor to play.Comment

I would hate it if my big screen couldn't play The Show.As the other have said, this is a Display lag issue. It lies with your TV.

Re: Calibration issue?
I have a 40" inch Samsung that is a universally lauded television and I cannot play the Show on it at all. With game mode on, renaming the HDMI to PC(something I've read was supposed to help) and countless other "remedies", it's still completely unplayable. I was playing the last two years on a monitor but I got rid of the monitor when I bought a laptop. So I can't buy this year's version of the Show because it just doesn't work on my TV. It's incredibly disappointing. I wish they could have included something like Rock Band had where you could calibrate the game in the menu to make up the timing difference.Comment

Re: Calibration issue?
I heard rumors supporting opposite conclusions, and after all is said and done, every TV is engineered differently enough that you would need to find a solution specifically for your TV.
I ended up getting myself a gaming monitor (which doubles as my computer monitor), and I can see a huge difference in input lag. If you enjoy gaming competitively, I think that's a way to go. Smaller, low input lag monitor aren't as expensive these days.
It is frustrating that we don't get to enjoy the graphics on a bigger monitor. But it's not as bad since The Show is still on 720, I believe.Comment

Re: Calibration issue?
Before buying a TV always check reviews to make sure it's good for gaming. In your situation you could get something like a DVDO Edge which does all the processing for the TV and has a minuscule amount of lag. A lot of people use it to de-interlace/upscale games from retro consoles to HDTV's. It isn't cheap though.Comment

Re: Calibration issue?
Try naming the input port (if possible) to PC.
This worked for me on my LG tv where I could label it as GAME/SETUP BOX/DVR/PC."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Re: Calibration issue?
That TV should have a Game Mode setting. Go to Menu --> System --> General --> Game Mode. It's not within Picture settings.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Calibration issue?
Make sure all other post processes are turned off too. Cinemotion, Live Color, gamma, clear white, stuff like that.
