Sim Stats
Has anyone simulated up to 10 years in franchise or season mode? Do stats get inflated as the years go by? In MLB 13 once you hit your 5 season guys would start putting up unreal numbers. You would have 10 different guys hitting over 330. with 40 home runs. Is this still an issue?Tags: None -
Re: Sim Stats
Just got done simming through 2020. Offense numbers actually go down. Atleast for this franchise. I did one prior and saw alot more offense.
Here are some numbers..

2nd place Chris Davis 270 38 112
3rd Jose Abrue 288 35 111
NL MVP D. Mendez 315 35 106
2nd Kershaw 18-5 2.72 226
3rd Bryce Harper 276 35 100
AL CY Alec Schulz 21-7 2.88 141
NL CY Kershaw
AL Batting title 1st .305, 2nd .298 3rd .297
NL Batting title 1st 315, 2nd 312, 3rd .302
Top HR AL Stanton 42 (only one other player in league with over 40)
NL Mendez 35, Bryce Harper 35
15 players have over 100 RBI's (2013 real life there was 13 with over 100 RBI's.)Last edited by Bat; 04-12-2014, 01:30 AM.Mariners Seahawks Sonics UW Sounders

Re: Sim Stats
Yea those numbers seem pretty good to me. Better than having everyone rack up hall of fame numbers for sure.Comment

Unusually high K rate for a single pitcher but otherwise very good. Closest to 2011s real life stats from the look of it.PSN: KMRBlue1027

Re: Sim Stats
Teams pitching staffs were K'ing guys at a very high rate last year, so Im glad to see MLBTS has taken this into account. Last year there sim stats were awful and basically broken.
I think with more an more PED testing is probably having some effect and probably will continue to as less and less guys trying to juice, so K's will probably higher and ERA down to what they have been.
Although in baseball things go in a cycle and I think right now were back into a pitchers dominating for a while anyway. There are a lot of young good arms in the majors right now along with quite a few in the minors that look good.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: Sim Stats
When's the last time someone broke 250 strikeouts though? One of Roger Clemens Cy Young seasons maybe? You'd have to have at least above 9 K/9 and throw 230+ innings.PSN: KMRBlue1027

Re: Sim Stats
Yu Darvish had 277 strikeouts in 209 innings last year. Justin Verlander had 270 or something like that in 2009. I'm not saying it's common, but it does happen from time to time.Super XV: Crusaders

Re: Sim Stats
I had completely forgotten about Darvish. That 11 K/9. I guess as long as someone isn't constantly hitting 250+ strikeouts it shouldn't be a problem. My worry is a pitcher that by random chance can develop into a monster with max stamina and K/9 may break 300.PSN: KMRBlue1027

Re: Sim Stats
Yep. What were seeing in the majors right now leans towards the pitchers, and I think MLBTS devs were trying to get the game to reflect that. Plus last year the sim stats were just broken, so Im glad they fixed it. If we have to have something a little higher than maybe it should be, I would prefer it to be K's rather than BA's and HR's.
I was a little worried when I 1st started looking at the K/9 in this years game, and how low some of them were, but so far all the sim stats I see look pretty good. Also when you play you can even K guys with pitchers K/9 in the 20's and 30's. I had a game where a pitcher had like a 34 in K/9 and I struck out 9 over 6 inning with him, and I was shocked.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: Sim Stats
That's not totally impossible. Look at Randy Johnson's stats or Curt Schillings. In 2001 Johnson struck out 372 and in 2002 Schilling struck out 316. So it's not common buy not impossible. So I would be ok if it just happened with 1 or 2 guys.BCS Express - TCU (yr 1 12-1)(yr 2 10-2)

Re: Sim Stats
We're talking 6-10 years from now, someone could step up and be a freak like that. Since this game doesn't have much in terms of "league news", stats are the only thing to create interesting stories in our virtual world. I'm okay with someone throwing 300 K's at some point. Prince hit 60 bombs one year in mine, randomly, and it was fun to follow him during the last two months.
And if I remember correctly, Shelby Miller lead my 'chise in K's for like 4-5 years in a row last year, starting ~2018ish. He never won a Cy Young, but he definitely had some seriously nasty stuff.Comment
