Sounds of the show on ps4 ?

will the ps4 version have the sounds of the show ? I understand the ps4 you cant add mp3 music but will the game have this option ? hopefully sony updates the ps4 ..

It has been stated by the developers that the game will indeed have this option built in from the start on the PS4. However, it seems as though you will only be able to choose from the music included on the game disc itself as the sounds for the instances in the game. Meaning, until Sony updates their firmware to allow third party music support on the system we will be stuck with whatever SCEA has for us on the disc itself.

I have the feeling that sometime during this release cycle, Sony will release a firmware update allowing MP3's on the harddrive. So it's awesome that SCEA built the framework for SOTS into the game.

I'm just passing along what I've been told and that is it probably won't work with music unlimited. I'm not 100% sure on this though.

During the Sharefactory video for the 1.70 update it says use included tracks or your original music and it shows USB import. In the info describing sharefactory it only mentions included music tracks.

I am sure i heard AC/DC playing during one of the player walkups in one of those IGN vids from last week.

Yeah, doesn't sound like 1.7 will have it but it sounds like it's next in line, hopefully for 1.8 sometime in later May, since 1.7 comes out on the 30th. Hopefully more details will come out later this month because that would be huge to be able to attach songs to my hitters and relievers, along with in-stadium music for my franchise

I'm really hoping this gets resolved this year. Aside from walkups, I love swapping out the (often generic) menu music with classic MLB replays and Ken Burns' Baseball soundtrack. Adds so much atmosphere.

As much as I'm over the top excited for the PS4 version, I know I will miss the SOTS features tremendously. The ability customize the game in such a personal way is (IMO) one of the coolest features not just in sports games, but in ALL video games . I'm very happy to hear that the framework is in place to (hopefully) add it back in once the hardware is updated, but I'm totally baffled as to why this functionality was not built into the PS4 from day one. As a PS4 owner it's extremely disappointing that in order to play my favorite game on my "powerful" new console, I will have to sacrifice such a beloved feature. A feature that has been part of the game for many years and a feature that PS3 users still have no less. I still believe that Sony will do the right thing eventually, but I sure hope we won't have to wait until MLB 15 to get the full SOTS functionality back. Since I got my PS4 last November, I feel I've spent way more time waiting than actually gaming.

Update 1.70 allows import of music within that video editing program... Wonder if that means we can import music in general ? Sots makes such a difference.. Its almost as important as visuals. Ps4 will look better, but ps3 will sound better

I couldn't have said it better! I am a SOTS freak and start compiling my music during the winter meetings in preparation each year. I literally spend weeks getting ready because SOTS brings so much realism to the game. When I got my PS4 in November my jaw dropped in disbelief that MP3's we're not supported. I really thought by now that Sony would have fixed this (been 6 mos).

SCEA has done a terrific job with endless possibilities for users to deploy music and chants and gives the user the ability to create an awesome audio environment of your own.

I bought '14 for PS3 because even though the PS4 will be AMAZING...I still may play the PS3 version simply because of SOTS. It means that much to me. The PS3 version is actually really good in my opinion and wouldn't think twice if the PS4 version didn't exist. They enhanced the batter walk-ups even better this year.

My fingers are crossed that SCEA finds a way to still have SOTS in the PS4 version or a firmware update is right around the corner!

Has it been confirmed that they are actually including SOTS in the PS4 version this year?

I always assumed they would since a firmware update will eventually include mp3 support. I just never saw it confirmed anywhere yet.

Yes. I believe Russell confirmed every feature/game mode on ps3 is definitely in the ps4 version as well. Including SOTS.

The framework for SOTS is in for the PS4, But as of now it's not the same as the PS3 version. Until Sony does a firmware update for the PS4 we won't be able to use custom music in the Show.
