    Silver's League - A 30 Team Association

    A Time Of Change

The NBA as we know it seems to be going through dramatic changes in the current era. With a new NBA commissioner at the head of it all, can the NBA propel itself into the future as a successful league?

Player Roles have been turned off, because they're broken. I will only be posting key games, not every single game.

    Examples of key games:
A star matchup at the same position: OKC vs. MIA, Durant vs. LeBron
Rivalries: CHI vs. MIA, BOS vs. NY, LAL vs. LAC
    Playoff Clinchers
    International and Offseason Games

Goal: Get every NBA team a championship at least once.

    Secondary Goals:
    1. Earn the Gold at the Olympics
    2. Create more NBA events in the Offseason
    3. Open the league up to LGBT rights more
    4. See 20 Players enter the Hall of Fame
    5. Allow a woman into the NBA for the first time

Indiana Holds On To Take Game 1 At Home

Indianapolis - The Pacers haven't collapsed yet.

The Pacers had been wanting this matchup all season long. They finally got it, and were able to execute in front of the home crowd.

"Playing here at home is different than going out on the road, obviously. We get a huge boost from the crowd, when they're happy." Were the words from head coach Frank Vogel, in the post-game press conference.

Coach Vogel may be making a reference to the Indiana fan who heckled Paul George a few months ago in a home game.

The Heat put up a good fight against the younger Pacers, but their game-winning three pointer from LeBron James fell short. James had been cold from long range for the entire night, going 0 for 6.

"We just got to put more effort in, really. We don't want to lose both games on the road and go back home down two." James said to interviewers in the Heat locker room. "We both came out strong, but the second quarter was where we started to wind down."

The Heat outscored the Pacers in the fourth quarter, however, 32 to 25.

"We'll be ready. We know who we're dealing with. We'll put some more hours in at the gym like we always do and come out strong in Game 2." Dwayne Wade said to reporters.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:

The Good - Paul George poured in 26 points on 8-16 shooting. He was perfect from the free throw line, going 8-8.

The Bad - Lance Stephenson received a technical foul in the second quarter for words said to a referee. Stephenson played 37 minutes, and scored 14 points.

"I got to control myself a bit better." Stephenson said when asked for comment. "The stakes are higher here, and I'm lucky it wasn't in the fourth quarter."

The Ugly - Norris Cole had a unappealing performance against the Pacers. Cole was benched by Spoelstra, and played only 5 minutes, scoring 2 points. He had only one attempt from the field and 2 assists. One has to wonder if it was Cole's or Spoelstra's fault for Cole's performance.

New Pure Point Rating Report - CP3 Tops List

New York - The NBA has released a brand new Pure Point Rating report today. Below are the top ten players from the list. Chris Paul tops it, no surprise there. The first non-point guard on the list, however? None other than Josh McRoberts of the Charlotte Bobcats at number 12. McRoberts has shown that he is definitely one of the best passing bigman in the game today, and has been a great stretch 4 for the Bobcats.

Born from the conventional Assist/Turnover ratio, Pure Point Rating values a turnover as more costly than an assist is helpful. This stat looks exclusively at a player's ability to run an offence and his ability as a pure point guard.
        1. Chris Paul, PG - Los Angeles Clippers: 13.7
        2. Kendall Marshall, PG - Los Angeles Lakers: 10.7
        3. Ricky Rubio, PG: Minnesota Timberwolves: 9.4
        4. Ty Lawson, PG - Denver Nuggets: 7.3
        5. Pablo Prigioni, PG - New York Knicks: 7.2
        6. Brandon Jennings, PG - Detroit Pistons: 7.0
        7. Jameer Nelson, PG - Orlando Magic: 6.9
        8. Kyle Lowry, PG - Toronto Raptors: 6.9
        9. John Wall, PG - Washington Wizards: 6.2
        10. Shelvin Mack, PG - Atlanta Hawks: 6.0

Clippers: With Sterling Not Budging, What Becomes of the Clippers' Roster?

          May 27th, 2014

Los Angeles - Everyone and their dog is after the ownership of the Clippers. Mark Jackson. Magic Johnson. Kareem Abdul-Jabaar. Oprah Winfrey. Floyd Mayweather. Rick Ross. The list goes on.

          Mr. Sterling does not budge.

He refuses to pay the fine for his actions and refuses to sell the team to anyone else.

NBA free agents are said to be avoiding the Clippers this upcoming summer. The most notable of these free agents, Carmelo Anthony, was available for comment.

Carmelo Anthony: "Well, I was definitely considering the Clippers on the short list of teams I was thinking of. You know, Chris Paul is there. Blake Griffin's there. Doc Rivers coaching - it's a great situation. That's until I found out who Donald Sterling was."

Reporter: "So the Clippers have been scratched off the list?"

Anthony: *Nods* "Me and Chris are good friends, but I just can't. Besides, I already made up my mind on where I'm going."

          Reporter: "Any hints?"

Anthony: "Not right now. You'll find out soon." *Laughs*

Besides the fact free agents like Anthony will be unwilling to sign with the Clippers, NBA players are ready to boycott the team if Sterling is still in control, most notably LeBron James.

"He has no place in our league." James said simply to reporters during a Heat practice session. The Heat are getting ready to face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. "Not in our league, no. My best regards go out to Chris, and we'll help him try to get through this."

"It's been going on too long. Where's the vote? I thought the voters voted already. Why is he still here? As players, we're all still wondering."

What do you think the NBA should do? Vote!

What should be done for the Clippers?

(The vote will translate to the Association.)

They better be, after that CP3 trade, we've basically had no bright spots, except for Davis and occasionally others (Holiday, Anderson, maybe Evans).

An NBA Finals for the Ages

Oklahoma City - The Thunder are in store for a matchup with the Miami Heat... again. A 2012 NBA Finals rematch.

It would've been a rematch either way for the Heat, who closed the Pacers out in 5 games. The Spurs, unfortunately, received the same fate.

"We know the team we're up against is a good one. LeBron, Wade... they're all there waiting for us in The Finals. They'll be ready. But we'll be ready for them too. We'll run through the right plays, even though we're down a few guys. Jeremy Lamb's been great filing in for Thabo currently."
Scott Brooks said after the last Spurs game.

As for the other side of the fence, the Heat are doing exactly what Brooks touched on. They went right back to work.

                    Injury Report:

                    Oklahoma City:
Steven Adams may play through a Strained Groin in The Finals.

Thabo Sefolosha has been suffering from a Sprained Shoulder, and has been shut down for the rest of the Playoffs.

Reserve bigman Hasheem Thabeet has a broken finger, and will be unable to play for the rest of the Playoffs.

                    Miami Heat:
Shane Battier tore his MCL during the Pacers series and will not be able to play until next season.

Udonis Haslem has a torn Labrum and is out for the rest of the Playoffs.

Bone Spurs are plaguing backup wing James Jones. He'll most likely be out for the rest of the Playoffs.

                      NBA Announces Summer Blacktop Program

New York - In an attempt to expand the NBA's offseason programs, Adam Silver announced the NBA Summer Blacktop program today.

NBA Summer Blacktop will take place in Rucker Park, Harlem, New York. The location was chosen as a salute to Julius Erving and the numerous other great players that have played there.

Blacktop games will be broadcast live via Youtube, and the final rounds will be broadcast locally, as well as nationally.

However, only certain players are allowed to enter.

                      Eligibility:
                      • Player must not be a starter in their team's rotation.
                      • Player must have spent more than 2 seasons in the league.
                      • Player must have not been deemed an All-Star in the previous season.
                      • Player must not have the role of a "Sixth Man".
                      • No rookies are allowed from the 2014 Draft Class.

If there are not enough players that fall under the requirements, the team may use any free agents they'd like to fill the spot(s).

OKC Wins Game 7, Durant Crowned MVP

Oklahoma City - "They've done it! They've done it! The new NBA champions!"

Those were the words of Kevin Harlan once it was all said and done.

"I'm at a loss for words." Kevin Durant said, trying to hold back tears as he was handed the Bill Russell MVP award. "I'm probably the happiest man in the world right now."

With a laugh, he added, "There's been times that I wanted to strangle them, but I have the best teammates in the world. I give them so much credit for helping me get to where I am today, along with this great organization."

                        Former champion LeBron James didn't take it as hard as some expected;

"It's well deserved." James said afterwards.

This win does open up many questions, however. The future of our league may change dramatically this summer. Summer always has a chance of doing that. Which team will draft the next superstar? Is the Big Three meeting it's end? Will Boston, New York, and Los Angeles return to prominence?

                        Time will tell.

For now, let Kevin Durant celebrate.

Following! I think it'll be awesome to see where this goes. Rooting for my Hawks to win a title once but that may not happen soon, even in here. Great work so far, though!

                            2014 - : Washington Wizards

                            Bonus:
All Nuggets bench point guards receive +2 Strength, +1 Stamina, and +3 Offensive Awareness.

                            Hall of Famers:
Steve Nash, Los Angeles Lakers, PG

Bonuses are permanent to the players, not the team. For example: Eric Bledsoe will receive a boost to his Pass rating permanently, but if a point guard were to sign with the Suns, they will not receive that boost. These bonuses apply before the draft.

                              Bucks Snag First Pick

Brooklyn, New York - As the draft looms, the Barclays Center is preparing for the NBA Draft once again. Tickets are already sold out for the event, with many Brooklynites and New Yorkers unable to attend.

Large amounts of Kentucky, Conneticut, and North Carolina fans have purchased the tickets already. They've received priority over the locals.

That's not the story at hand, however. The Milwaukee Bucks won the lottery last night, and will receive their first Number 1 overall pick since they picked Andrew Bogut number one overall in 2005.

Mallory Edens, part of the Bucks ownership, said that she was "Very excited for her franchise" and hopes for a successful draft.
