Re: Madden 15 Silence is a good sign!?
Tough to say. EA had a lot to say (podcasts with the dev team) about NCAA '13 and that turned out to be a disappointment. They said next to nothing about '14 and that iteration, legacy issues aside, was a solid leap forward.
Here's to hoping the silence means that they're going to let the gameplay speak for itself. -
Re: Madden 15 Silence is a good sign!?
I think EA might finally be realizing that they couldn't get out of their own way.
It seemed like every time they tried to do something fancy or cute, it backfired. (That first video of next-gen Madden on ESPN) Maybe this time around they figure if we don't open our mouths too much they can't accidentally put their foot in it.
I also agree NCAA 14 was a leap forward (Hurts so bad its gone) and that hype train didn't get too far from the station.
You can't deny that the team they have in place now knows football. (Former players and all) Maybe they are just gonna come out swinging with gameplay at E3.Comment

No, I don't think it's a good sign. The only good sign would be gameplay video showing smooth, realistic animation and good football AI. Anything short of that would likely mean same ole Madden in my eyes.
Here's to EA dropping a good football game this year. I'll drink, but I won't hold my breath. I've passed out the last 10 years.
Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

They'll come up with something and they won't have to try hard. After all, Madden 14 (25) was the 26th year of Madden since the series actually began in 1988, but they were able to push that fact aside without anyone really noticing (or really even caring).Comment

EA Sports is busy promoting UFC, its brand-new IP. There's no reason for EA to release media of and/or information regarding one of its flagship series in the United States and thus stomp the feet of the new UFC IP - which is also predominantly targeting an audience within the United States - before it gets its legs under it.Comment

Re: Madden 15 Silence is a good sign!?
Ive read RUMORS that stated the reason they have been so tight lipped is because there is a chance Take Two might announce a football game at E3 and dont want to give any info out before them.
Obviously, I wouldnt believe this until I saw it, and even more obvious, I hope its true....but there have been some NFL players at their studios getting scanned. Doesnt mean a game is coming THIS year or even at all, but its just something that makes me cross my fingers.
If thats not the case....I dont consider it a good or bad thing. I have no faith in EA Tiburon to make the game NOTABLY better than what it currently is. I expect more of the same until they actual have a reason to improve the game....i.e. legit competition.Comment

Secondly, they are two completely different genres and while there will obviously be gamers who play both, releasing SOME info for Madden doesnt affect UFC at all.
All they are doing is delaying the marketing for Madden, and if the improvements to the game arent up to par, it will just annoy fans more than they usually do.Comment

First off, the UFC game isnt going to sell a fraction of what Madden sells.

1 - you severely underestimate the UFC fan base; UFC is at-worst as popular (and depending on what you read more popular) than WWE professional wrestling, and THQ's three UFC games totaled about 7 million in sales on PS3 and XBOX 360. No, that's not Madden numbers, but it's respectable for a then-current-gen console title.
2 - That UFC is an upcoming release absolutely is factoring in to how the rest of EA Sports brand operates. The brand has five major releases this year - UFC, FIFA, Madden, NBA Live, and NHL. UFC is the first major release, why would EA Sports add noise to UFC's marketing campaign by feeding the media information about any of the brand's more-established video game series?
3 - EA Tiburon is on record saying that Madden's competition isn't any game in the sports genre, but rather other massively popular games like Call of Duty or Battlefield. For better or worse, the public impression is that what other sports titles do doesn't move the needle with respect to how the Madden franchise operates.
4 - Why would any competent game studio deliberately go out of their way to make a game that "isn't up to par"? That just strikes me as bad business, and I have never understood why this sentiment is so widespread in this forum.Comment

Re: Madden 15 Silence is a good sign!?
I know that the Xbox One and PS4 is the center of their world now, but I hope they don't ignore the last gen crowd. I know they won't improve graphics that much, but hopefully the new presentation like pre-show and half-time make it in.
I guess we'll see. I fully understand it's gonna take a backseat, but hopefully not too big of one.Comment
