MLB 14 The Show OSFM Hybrid Roster backdated to Opening Day - v1

First of all, a great big thanks to Knight and his crew for putting together the OSFM set.

Secondly, a great big thanks to Willard and his crew for creating a Hybrid of the OSFM set.

This is where I come in. I'll dust off my old roster skills from MVP Baseball 2005 and help Willard and the crew backdate the OSFM Hybrid v2 to match the rosters as of Opening Day 2014. The rosters will be put in the vault and available for ps3 and ps4 users.

Here's a brief overview of how it'll be structured:
    • 40 man rosters will be as of Opening Day 2014 with one exception - no injured players in single-A. Most of the available roster sets have players that are out for the year (TJ surgery etc) in the minors and removed from the 40-man roster (IRL 60-day DL) to create room for their IRL replacements on the roster. This set will have Matt Harvey, Brandon Beachy, Kris Medlen, Patrick Corbin and more in the Majors from the beginning.
    • When you start a franchise you can either manually injure guys using 30-team control or you can simply let the CPU handle send downs after Spring Training.
    • For the users that manually want to injure and DL players, you'd have to come up with a replacement player for yourself to handle that opening on the 40 man roster when ie. Beachy hits the 60 day DL. For those just looking to play right away and not worry about IRL injuries, you should be good to go after having dropped 15 guys from each organization based on my upcoming list (or basically just let the CPU release players)
    • My goal is to provide a list of the 15 players in each organization that I suggest you send down to the minors after Spring Training to not mess up the rosters.

This project will be started as soon as The OSFM Hybrid Roster v2 (with Pitch Edits) are released.

I don't know how long it'll take to backdate the set but I'll do my best on getting it done quickly as I'm eagerly waiting for my own release to start my franchise

I'll start the backdating as soon as v2 with the Pitch Edits is released.

No ETA as of yet but I hope to have a better picture and timeframe of the backdating once I've seen the latest copy of the roster. I'll be keeping you guys posted on the progress.

I have a question - I only control the Nationals in my franchise, do I have to worrya bout sending down people for all teams or what? I keep hearing people talk about 25 man rosters and such and I am getting confused. Sorry about the noob question

The computer can handle it but they make strange decision. Like not playing a stud prospect in the minors, starting a CP in the rotation but usually they will carry far too many pitchers. A 15 man staff shouldn't happen.

If that has beard fixes for PS4, how would that affect the PS3?

No entirely sure as I don't have the ps3 version myself but I think the difference would be that some players have more of a 5'o clock shadow/stubble than a full beard

On a quick side note, I won't put a ton of focus getting the minor league lineups and rotations correct as of OD. Too time consuming so I'll focus on the majors to get this baby out sooner rather than later

Totte, do you have a sheet or link to a site that has the full org charts on OD? I have been scoring threads and the internet and can't find anything.

Also, has anyone put together the list of the dates and players to manually injure leading up to OD? I did this straight from the website mlbdepthcharts for an earlier roster but never compiled... Brilliant I know.

I'm not interested in keeping up with IRL injuries past OD but would just like to be right when I start. If this doesn't exist I would be willing to put together if there is interest.

I've pretty much just googled newspaper articles for each team were their OD roster has been mentioned. A bit time consuming and it'd be easier if there was a really good website that kept track of stuff like that.

Going back to look at the initial OSFM release and its 40 man rosters is one way to go as well. That at least gives a general idea about it.

There's a player injury and DL thread here at the boards but I haven't paid much attention to it. Maybe there's a list in there? I don't manually injure players myself and let things play out for themselves during the season.
