Foul limit should be reduced to 4 in online games
People who spam steal will either force you into a bump animation, steal the ball or get called for a foul. But foul calls don't really matter in 6 min quarters because you'll rarely enter the penalty anyway, so there's no deterrent . I think the limit should be reduced to 4 fouls to stop these bums from continuously spamming stealNBA 2k11 played better than this s*@tTags: None -

2K can fix their broken steal button so that when someone presses the steal button, its a 50/50 chance that a defender can actually get a steal depending on their defensive abilities and the offensive player ball handling rating. The reason for the spamming of the X button is because the steal animation rarely happens when you press the button unless you're like cp3, rondo, parker, or time it just right after another animation. -

Increase the amount of FATIGUE drastically for gamers who spam the steal button.
Player movement should be reduced by 75% at least.
In a game with only 6-minute quarters, 2K needs to FORCE spammers to make substitutions.
Or make them more susceptible to 'cheap fouls' & random blocking, tripping, or grabbing calls.... ONCE THEY STOP REACHING.
NOT WHILE THEY ARE 'IN THE ACT' OF REACHING.
That way, they won't KNOW when they are vulnerable to getting a whistle blown against them. And would foul out unintentionally more often, for using 'cheesy' tactics.
Right now, there is NO penalty for spamming steal. And with enough practice, 'cheesers' can control the fouls by hitting the steal button just enough to be HIGHLY aggravating, but not enough to get a foul. (ie when the ball is in the air, being passed around the perimeter)
Take that control away from them.
Make them play honest 'position defense' by moving their feet, instead of wildly reaching-in.
The easiest way to accomplish this is to make the CPU-controlled teammates amass quick, cheap fouls.
ie if a player is primarily controlling Lebron on defense (while chasing & double-teaming every ball-handler around the entire court) and keeps constantly spamming steal... then his teammates who the CPU controls (like Bosh, or Wade) should be picking up more & more cheap foul animations (away from the ball) because of the over-aggressive behavior. And vice versa.
It ain't that hard to code.
Ever see the animation when you (manually) grab a rebound, but your CPU-teammate suddenly pushes someone else to the ground (for no reason at all) at the same time and gets called for a foul?
THAT should happen more often whenever spammers keep hitting the steal button.
Bottom line... If you keep reaching you get tired real quick, pickup fouls real quick, or your teammates foul out unintentionally on cheap 'touch fouls'.
That would put an end to spamming the steal button... once and forever.
But 2k would probably never do something as simple as this, unless it requires spending VC somehow to accomplish.Last edited by RogerBlack; 06-08-2014, 04:52 PM.Comment

Re: Foul limit should be reduced to 4 in online games
I don't know about this. Unfortunately, when you play myteam, most people will just bully their way into the paint to get those contact layups/dunks. Obviously, because of 2k's animations and coding, this is extremely successful and it makes the defender commit plenty of shooting/blocking fouls. Basically, if you enforce this 4 foul limit you'll not only punish the cheeser but the legit player as well.
IMO the better solution would be to crank the reach in foul slider all the way up like they did at the start of nba 2k13, before they patched it thanks to all the cheesers who complained because they were constantly fouling out. Obviously they'd need to tweak it a bit, but it would be a good start.
It was truly amazing back then, i remember being able to dribble the ball up court without constantly getting hacked and forced into stumbling animations that result in turnovers most of the time.WetBeaverNeeded YouTube - blacktop/crew/myteam/association on ps3
