Re: NHL 15 Hand-on Impression: Gameinformer
It says that goal celebrations are different now. They can be activated by pressing a face button. Now, what I want to know, is if you don't press a button, is it just a group celebration? If so, I will never ever press a button after scoring.NHL REVAMPED ROSTERS - CO-CREATOR -
Re: NHL 15 Hand-on Impression: Gameinformer
Granted they only played one game. But I think overall that was pretty drastic in regards to change for the better compared to the last few years. If hitting and poking isn't as easy and players on defense truly have to play positionally I can't say that's anything short of major improvement in the gameplay department.
I also liked hearing the puck is even looser than 14 and that scrambles happen. Something they will no doubt tune in regards to goalie interference and in no doubt gameflow on the whole, but that was also very promising to hear.
I wonder if there's some sort of NDA this year in regards to actual footage, that these early impressions are only showing the sizzle trailer and not their own, leads me to believe EA Sports marketing has a tight lid on controlling footage, noticed the same thing with Madden as well.Comment

Re: NHL 15 Hand-on Impression: Gameinformer
I like what I read.
I especially liked reading about how you can't be reckless on defense.
I'm really hoping it matters which defender you have on the ice. Guys like Doughty and Keith have good 'sticks' in that they almost always seem to knock the puck loose, deflect passes, or outright steal them.
I want to see that reflected in the game. From NHL07>>NHL14, it really didn't matter which defender you had on the ice; poke checks and blocked passes/shots were the same for any defenseman. I hope that's changed in NHL15.Comment

I'm sure all of us hardcore hockey fans will have some issues, after all it's pretty much a new game. The good thing is, it will feel completely new with all the presentation improvements, physics and all new commentary.
Its been a long time coming.Comment

Now that they're not handcuffed by memory limitations I expect quite a bit of improvement going forward.Comment

I have to agree with you here, although I find this quote to be a bit disconcerting - "But for all the realism, I wasn’t so hot on the new player models. They don’t look as on par to the real life athletes and are kind of jarring to look at it."

I know if the last-gen is any indication, over the next few years we can bet on seeing a marked improvement in this area.
The improvements to gameplay – especially on the defensive side are really getting me excited.
For those of us still on last-gen consoles, it may be worth a wait for one more year until the potential of the new hardware can be fully realized (I’m hoping).<O

Nothing available, and I don't believe there will be from E3, as EA has banned any photography or video of the playable version at their booth.Comment
