    This game is missing a risk/rewards for takedown

    Takedown are way too easy. It should be easier to parry and there should be a risk/rewards attach to it. If you fail you takedown, it needs to deplete your stamina. This will prevent the spammer from attempting takedown after takedown.

    The Risk/Reward factor is missing in pretty much all categories, honestly. It's the arcade element showing up in this regard. This is common on lots of sports games, unfortunately. At least in my opinion.

      What about the spammers attempting mod strike after mod strike? Interesting you only mentioned takedowns. ...

        At least in THQ UFC there was the risk of:

        a) getting kneed/soccer kicked in the face

        b) getting sprawled when tired could end with you in a poor position in the ground

        and c) again going in with no stamina would leave you extremely vulnerable to the guillotine.

        Here you either get the takedown or you don't. No harm done.

          ya sadly this game is a big letdown for me. No shame in taking elements from THQ that worked. I essentially bought a ps4 for The Show and this game. At least the show is realistic.

            I think takedown are just OP right now but mod strike would be next on my list.

              The takedown complaints one could make a case for especially in the online arena where your window is shortened by lag. If your not anticipating the TD by holding RT/R2 + Down its tough to prevent one. Much like Undisputed...
              Im my personal opinion ; factoring in lag, its still much easier to react to a TD attempt in EA UFC than in the undisputed series.

              I really don't see why spamming mod shots is a problem if you are able to parry properly. Mod shots are easier that other shots to react to and punish with at least a quick cross. If you get good at this system, you'll punish all modified shots with a mod shot of your own.
              Conversely, a well placed leg kick will result in hilarity against mod shot spam. Very Very satisfying!

              STAMINA!
              Spamming mod shots is not conducive to conserving stamina. Not conserving stamina increases recovery time from parried shots. Increased recovery time from parried shots is conducive to getting KTFO'd.

                i miss plenty of takedowns but in weird, un natural ways. there should be getting caught with a knee or uppercut when going for a takedown tho like in undisputed for sure

                  The biggest problem for me is the lack of time to react to the takedown online, because of the lag.

                  But I agree that a well placed knee or a guillotine should be in the game.

                    Yep either that or do like in UFC 3 where when you block low (or in EA Sports UFCs case, parry low) at the right time, youll catch your opponent in his take down attempt and have a chance at a nice dominant position or a satisfying uppercut or knee that puts him on his butt. I liked how in UFC 3 I had equal amount of tools on BOTH offense and defense in order to help get the win.

                      Having it effect stamina sounds patchable. Hopefully they tweak it. Also, as is you can catch them coming in with a knee if you time it right.

                        The ARCADE FIRST approach has really worn on me. It's just .... Ugh!!

                        Honestly no risk for doing anything.


                        Huge letdown. Don't know how they expect people to play this 18 months from now. I'm already pretty much done.


                        But my 6 yr old loves it.... Wonder why?
