Franchise Question(s) on how I should start.

Hello. I was wondering if I should start a new Franchise (my 1st real attempt) using NFL 2K5's default Rosters, or if I should use Gill's newest version?

I'm torn between the 2 because I like how some of those older players are at their peaks and it brings back memories, and yet I'm also torn because I like how the Teams in modern day are set up and doing their own things as well.

Any advice? Also, I'm thinking to do a default roster Franchise using the Texans or the Cards because they're the 2 worst in the Game (that I can tell as far as overall Ratings go).

My goal regardless of which Roster I'm using is to build a Team up.

Now, 2 questions I have aside from this are:

    1) Why are so many passes just batted down? Seems it happens all too frequently. Even the Commentators are saying "That's their 8th batted pass already this game..." things of that nature. It'll be in the 2nd Quarter as well.

So, how do I fix this/remedy this if possible?

    2) Does the CPU always Draft so foolish? The Chargers picked a HB #1 Overall...yet they have LT in 2004. Any way around this as well??

Really appreciate everyone's time and input on these questions.

    Thanks!!

Default roster is fun. The Giants are also a low-rated team and it's Eli's rookie year, so you can build them up.

Not sure on the DB deflections. May want to check out one of the slider threads from when the game was first released.

Default Rosters are fun. I always try to trade for Willis McGahee or Larry Johnson. Use those as my cornerstones to building a better team.

New Rosters are fun too. I have NFL 2K15. Rosters are excellent. The thing that kills me about the new rosters are the playbooks. When I play with my 'Hawks or even the Panthers, i'd like to sprinkle in the bubble screens and zone read stuff. Because 2K5 was released during a time in which neither of those plays were used often at the NFL level, you really can't run 'em. In fact, thats my biggest gripe with this game - the playbooks. The playbooks in this game don't hold up very well compared to Madden.

Lots of batted balls in this game, no doubt about that. But you also get nice throws where nobody touches the ball and the ball hits the ground

Whenever I pop this game in I just shake my head. It moves so well. Animations and physics make sense while after playing for 10 minutes the graphics even look solid. 10 years later.
