    Dynasty - conference games

Forgive me if this has been covered!

Within my dynasty, I want to keep it as real as possible, so I've made changes based on conference alignment with what happens in the coming years.

I run into 2 problems with this:

9 games schedules. Both the ACC and SEC have decided on staying at 8 games, but in Dynasty, they're always slated to 9. Is there a way to fix this?

Also, under conference rules in the preseason, I try and change it so that conference play starts around week 3 or 4. What I end up getting is a ton of my conference games at the beginning of the season where I'd normally like to setup a neutral site game or some tune-up games. Anything I can do to fix this?

    Thanks!

For the number of conference games, I think if you have protected rivals set to "on" it will be 8, but if you set it to "Off" it will be a 9-game conference schedule.

Not sure about your 2nd question.
Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
    Penguins : 1990/91, 1991/92, 2008/09, 20015/16, 2016/17
    Pirates : 1909, 1925, 1960, 1971, 1979
    Panthers (FB): 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1976
    Panthers (MBB): 1927/28, 1929/30

Try week 5 for every conference to start conference play. And like the previous guy suggested, turn the protected rivals OFF for every conference.
Won't change my sig until the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl...wait, that happened ! Let's win another one! Go Hawks!!

But the previous guy said if you turn protected rivals to OFF it means 9 games... leave it ON and you get 8... and the OP is wanting 8 conference games... what am I missing??? LOL

            1. For 8 or 9 conference games, use this info:

4-8 schools – 7 conference games. There are no protected rivals since everyone plays everyone else. For conferences of 4-6 schools FCS opponents will play the part of your additional conference games

9 schools – 8 conference games. There are no protected rivals since everyone plays everyone else.

10 schools – 9 conference games. There are no protected rivals since everyone plays everyone else.

11 schools – 8 conference games with a rotation of other conference members.

12 schools – 8 conference games when using protected rivals. 9 conference games when not using protected rivals. (Note: C-USA will use their 8 conference game, no protected rival format by default)

13 schools – 8 conference games. Protected Rivals are not available in conferences with odd numbered schools.

14 schools - 8 conference games when using protected rivals. 9 conference games when not using protected rivals.

15 schools – 10 conference games. Depending on the rotation you will have 6-7 division games in a year with 3-4 rotating cross divisional games (based on the MAC's 13 school schedule rotation)

16 schools – 9 conference games. With protected rivals you will have 7 division games, 1 protected rival, and 1 rotating cross division opponent. Without protected rivals you will have 7 division games and 2 rotating cross division games.

            2. I haven't found a fix for this. Some teams/conferences just throw things out of whack. IE. the B1G with 12 teams is fine, but adding Maryland, Rutgers, and/or ND screw things up.

Have you tried setting all the conference to allowing any type of game and starting week 5?Also allowing (night/day, i don't t remember the option off hand) games in November

                Re: protected rivals

12-team conferences are ON for 8 and OFF for 9.
14-team conferences are OFF for 8 and ON for 9.
16-team conferences play 9 regardless of rivals setting.

                  Re: Dynasty - conference games

So I tried doing what everybody in this thread suggested by turning protected rivals to "on" and I'm still getting 9 conf games in my dynasty!!!

I'm using a teambuilder Georgia Tech in the ACC with updated conference realignment. Could this have anything to do with it? It's super frustrating!

Ok, so I just started up a test dynasty with using realigned ACC with my Teambuilder GT team and I turned protected rivals "OFF" and got an 8 game conf schedule......

I think somebody has this rule reversed.

I think somebody has this rule reversed.

                      Just reverse the rivals flag.

If you've got 8 (or 9) and you want 9 (or 8) and the flag is on (or off) then simply turn it off (or on).

So if you turn this OFF, the cross-division permanent games won't be played every year?

In short, no. When you turn off cross-division rivals, all your cross-division games will/should rotate.
