    Players with wrong contracts

If you guys know of any players that have the wrong years left on their contract or the wrong amount of money assigned to them please post it in here.

If it is a new deal recently signed this year in the past few months there really is no need to mention it. If it is a new deal signed in the last two weeks or an issue from last years Madden please list the players below and the contract they signed.

This is your chance to make a difference

    Re: Players with wrong contracts

Just went through a couple guys and it's hard to tell how things work year-by-year in Madden but for the few guys I did their numbers all seemed wrong. Assuming the bonus is prorated over the length of the contract equally, it seems as if every players base salary escalates every year. For Bowe, in 2013 it has his base salary at $2 million with a $2 million bonus and by 2017 he has a $18 million base salary along with the $2 million bonus which doesn't match at all with his real numbers below. And it's pretty much the same for every guy I did. Not sure if I'm missing something or if there is just that much wrong.

The first number is the players cap number according to OverTheCap which I'm assuming should be the same number as the cap hit number in Madden.

Dwayne Bowe - 5 yr. $56 mil. as of 2013

    2014- $12 mil. ($8.75 mil base, $3.25 mil bonus) $8 million in M25
    2015 - $14 mil. ($10.75 mil base, $3.25 mil bonus) $12 million in M25
    2016 - $13 mil. ($9.75 mil base, $3.24 mil bonus) $16 million in M25
    2017 - $13 mil. ($9.75 mil base, $3.24 mil bonus) $20 million in M25

Tamba Hali - 5 yr. $57.5 mil as of 2011

    2014 - $11.464 mil. ($6.25 mil base, $5.214 mil bonus)
    2015 - $11.964 mil. ($6.75 mil base, $5.214 mil bonus)

Eric Berry - 6 yr. $50.045 mil as of 2010

    2014 - $11.619 mil. ($8.417 mil base, $3.202 mil bonus)
    2015 - $8.357 mil. ($5.155 mil base, $3.202 mil bonus)

Jamaal Charles - 5 yr. $27 mil as of 2011

    2014 - $5.233 mil. ($2.65 mil base, $2.583 mil bonus)
    2015 - $7.333 mil. ($4.75 mil base, $2.583 mil bonus)

My question would be which contracts in Madden that aren't a 1-2 year basic deal are accurate?

These will always be fudged pretty heavily at best, NFL contracts are too complex. Guaranteed years, restricting, workout and 'on the roster x date' bonuses, etc.

Ok, I understand that it would be impossible to get the contracts exact due to the complication of the contracts...however why not just use your resources and match them up one by one from say... http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/.... In the past they have only allowed 52 man rosters so 32x52 = 1,664 contracts. This should only take one person one week(I am being generous). It is data entry in my eyes. Why do you need help? I am sorry if I sound upset but the information is out there. I appreciate you communicating with us.

I know EA probably worries about people abusing it, and it would be the folks who want to cheese the game and make every contract affordable BUT... make contracts editable prior to going to into CFM and even during CFM, for those mid season re-signings. This way serious gamers can update it and reflect the current contracts as close as possible.

I just wish they would change it so the Signing Bonus and Guaranteed money is two different things. Yes a player gets a signing bonus, but he also gets a guaranteed amount. All we do now is change the years, salary and bonus. Just make it so it's years, salary, signing bonus and GTD Money.

Contracts are not accurate. In Madden every player has a basic contract that increases each year. The total value may be the same, but the year to year breakdown is way off.

Sucks that Madden does not have the ability to restructure contracts.

It'll never be close unless they add way more contract options. Madden's current contract structure is as dated as watching porn on magazines

                  Re: Players with wrong contracts

Getting this thread back on topic as so it is actually useful to the OP -

This thread is NOT a discussion of Madden NFL's contract mechanics in Connected Franchise. This thread is only a request for information about any NFL player contracts which are egregiously incorrect with respect to total money, signing bonus, and duration - comparing between Madden NFL 25 and real life - so that these values may be updated for Madden NFL 15.

Thanks for your cooperation going forward.

Pretty much everything you'd need is here. Obviously, Madden doesn't account for roster or workout bonuses. But that site has all the contract values on a year-to-year basis as well as guaranteed money. Just going through a couple of the top Chiefs players I found some pretty significant inaccuracies in just basic contract numbers so I'd imagine most players likely are the same. And as I mentioned before, the fact that every players contract escalates doesn't help matters either.

                    Dwayne Bowe:
                    Madden - 5 years, $60 million, $10 million bonus
                    Actual - 5 years, $56 million, $15 million bonus

                    Tamba Hali:
                    Madden - 5 years, $65 million, $15 million bonus
                    Actual - 5 years, $57.5 million, $14.823 million bonus

I noticed too that guys like Derrick Johnson had zero bonus/guaranteed money in Madden despite the fact that he received $15 million in guaranteed cash when he signed his extension. Same with Eric Berry where his bonus almost matches his real life guarantees but about $4 million of guaranteed money isn't part of the bonus.
