Coach Skills & It's Direct Impact On AI

I have noticed for a year now that a few of these coach skills have a direct impact on how the CPU AI behaves. So I will list some of the important ones:

    Spoiler

Keep in mind, the players that fall within the different categories of the Skill Tree have to have good ratings to go along with it. Because of how effective the skill tree is on CPU AI, I have become a 100% coach mode player, since now I can get teams and individual players to perform the way I want them to just simply calling the play.

What If you don't use it at all ? An just build up your recruiting tree? Does this mean you really have to build your players up? If say, I am going to use it when the new rosters come out.

Now I shall talk about the coach skill trees you should avoid at all costs:

Clean Laundry - You won't see a single penalty if a team is even a level 1 in this.

        Coachstradamus
        - Might as well call this God of Cheese. Basically gives the entire linebacker and secondary core an instant jump and speed warp boost when a team tries to run the ball. So avoid this at all costs. If not you will see WAY TOO MANY tackles in the backfield by a SWARM of defenders.

Great Wall - Pass blocking is way too good as is, with this added to it, you will not see a consistent pass rush at all.

I am going to add: Up Tempo and Recharge to the list of skill trees to avoid. Both of them prevent the offense and defense from getting tired. And I for one personally like seeing players getting tired on a consistent basis.

In all honesty this skill tree thing hurt the game more then it helped NCAA 14 because it over rides the AI and ratings way too much. So you really have to trim the fat off and activate other areas of the skill tree just to see certain things happen on a consistent basis in the game.

Yeah this definitely a game changer. Played a quick game of Michigan and Notre Dame late last night. Defensive linemen, linebackers, offensive linemen, etc. definitely got tired on long drives. And by the end of the 1st quarter you noticed they would lose a step or two.

It was also nice seeing players rotated in and out on a regular basis.

Is it possible to just turn off coach skills completely in Dynasty?

Re: Coach Skills & It's Direct Impact On AI

So I was messing around with aggression today and came away with the following conclusions:

Max Aggression defense = more man coverage, more blitzes. Which I pretty much assumed would be the case.

Majority aggression defense = more blitzes but not the dumb type of blitzes like engage 8.

50/50 aggression defense = mixed bag. some man, some zone, some blitzes.

The lesser the aggression on defense = more zones being called, you will see 3-3-5 nickel ran a lot.

Max aggression offense = the QB will look for deeper passes more. A lot of 3 wide sets being used.

Majority aggression offense = the QB will for medium to deep passes.

50/50 offense = Mixed bag. The QB will look for some of anything.

                      The the aggression on Offense
= the shorter the routes the QB will prefer to throw to. Which results in a lot of passes to the HB, FB and TE on swing routes and basically anything less then 5 yards down the field. QB will practically ignore his WRs.

I normally don't pay attention to any thread votes but come on what person would knock someone who is providing viable information on the games Coach skills????

If you don't agree with the information provided then move along....

Why put in a negative vote on something that doesn't IMPACT you one way or the other....

IMO this is really good feedback by Skillz

Keep in mind when doing the skill tree edits, the game doesn't allow you to have unused points, so you have to fiddle around with the levels to where as you get just enough points to activate the things you want.

                              Head Coach
                              - They control game management and recruiting. No higher then a level 35. Keep in mind head coach points go into game management and recruiting. So if you want a team to have good game management but suck in recruiting, you obviously would give them a lower level, so instead of 35, you would give them a 25 or 20.

                              Offensive and Defensive Coaches
                              - No higher then a level 12.
