This thread is for people interested in having a player in my 'Defying the Odds' dynasty featuring Braeden Griffin, who is currently the running backs coach at Santa Cruz High School, home of the Cardinals. With the 2019-20 roster now finalized (see that roster here), I will be excepting incoming freshman for the 2020-21 season, which is what this thread is for. I will be taking 26 players, and I would hope to get at least one player at each position (because otherwise I would need to make position changes for their freshman year, which I don't want to do).

The key for my defensive schemes is versatility. I need DTs play the nose, the 3-tech or the 5-tech DE position. I need DEs who can play traditional edge rusher, stand up at linebacker, or move inside to 3-tech defensive tackle or play 5-tech in a 3-4. OLBs who can put there hand in the dirt at DE, or rush the passer from a 3-4, or drop in coverage in a 4-3. ILB who can play mike in a 4-3 or a 3-4 and play some outside linebacker. The only place I like specialists is situational pass rushers that get limited snaps, and in the secondary. I want some tall press corners who can play outside (think Patrick peterson), then some quicker guys who can make plays in the slot (think tyrann mathieu), then I want a centerfielding safety who can play coverage and has good speed (think Earl Thomas or Devin McCourty) then i want a playmaking safety who roams the field and is my swiss army knife (think Troy Polamalu).

I'm not saying I need one guy who can do everything, but if you want to get extended playing time on defense,you need to be able to play more than one position effectively in the front 7.

Offensively, Its a pro style offense. I like my running game first and foremost. I want road graders inside and run blocking is key for my receivers. the QB needs to have an arm. And I like to use a multitude of running backs based on the situation.

Bio: Older brother (same dad) Dontae' Brown plays for the Santa Cruz Cardinals JV squad. Dontae' wants nothing to do with Neshaun (since he feels Neshaun's mom took their dad away from Dontae's mom). Neshaun looks up to Dontae' as a football idol. One of his top football dreams has been being the quarterback for his brothers team

Play Style: As a QB, is a scrambler with a powerful arm (think Brett Hundley or Colin Kaepernick). However, accuracy needs work. Tends to try and do too much at times, and can lead to INT's, fumbles, etc. However, shows great potential with more room to grow and could be a good starter in 2-3 years time. As a LB, is a quick pursuit kind of guy.

Bio: Jerrod is a kid originally from Texas, growing up a Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel/Kyle Allen fan. He liked their ability to make plays, no matter what the circumstances. He always played the same. However, tragedy struck when his mother passed away of cancer when Jerrod was 8. His father moved him and his sister to California to take a job in a local Santa Cruz pizza store, where he worked his way up to assistant manager, and eventually gave both his kids part-time jobs. Jerrod, his sister and re-married father, along with their new mother, have lived in S.C. for 5 years. Can be shy around new people, but is overall a good kid with a good crowd of friends, who has worked hard for his 3.3 GPA. He works very hard in the weight room as well, he mentioned last season he thinks if he works hard enough he could challenge as top backup next year. Doesn't like playing LB, but needed to ever since Pop Warner. Wants to play only QB in H.S, but again may be forced to play LB.

Rugby seems to have some skills that translate to linebacker, pursuit, tackling, etc. (coming from a guy with no idea what Rugby is like only a very basic understanding that its more physical than football)

2 QBs already? Good thing they're both athletes, because one of them may need to play another position if they lose the QB competition.

Big boy, probably gonna be one of the biggest players on the freshman team (almost definitely the tallest). His size may make me move him up, because its overpowered to have a 260 pound skill position player on teams with 225 pound defensive tackles lol. We'll see what else we get I suppose.

Haha. Yeah I started working on mine, had to walk away for a minute, finished my extensive bio and noticed someone else had gotten theirs. Haha. At least we can spice up the competition/rivalry/friendship between the 2, battling for backup roles at 2 different positions..
