The Coaching Career of Miles Perry (NCAA 14)

Welcome to my dynasty! As football season approaches I'm back playing NCAA 14 again. I've downloaded the new rosters for 14-15 and made my custom changes to coaches (no huddle settings, and updated coaching records for all coaches). This year I'll be starting my dynasty with Florida Atlantic, who fired their coach in real life. I will be working towards becoming a head coach at a school that has a stadium that seats 80,000+. So feel free to chime in and follow! If y'all have any suggestions as to how I can make this dynasty log better please let me know!

    Background info on Coach Perry:

Perry is a graduate of the University of Alabama. He attended La Marque High School in La Marque, TX, winning 4A state championships in 95, 96, and 97. La Marque also lost in the state championship game Perry's freshman year. Perry was awarded a scholarship to play football at the University of Alabama. During his freshman year at Alabama, Perry tore his ACL and ended up losing his scholarship. Perry continued his studies and graduated in 2001. In August of 2001 Perry was hired as the Varsity WRs coach at La Marque HS. After a 3 year stay, Perry moved on to become the Offensive Coordinator at Gilmer HS. Gilmer won a 3A state championship that year. In 2006 Perry was offered the head coaching job at Katy High School. Since 2006 Perry has taken his Katy Tigers to 5 state championship games, winning 3 of them. After firing Carl Pelini, FAU decided to take a gamble on Perry, hoping he could bring his winning ways to Boca Raton.

    Dynasty Rules:
I will be playing every game. 8 minute quarters using All-American sliders I'm working on.
I sim (watch play) all FGs and XPs.
I'll avoid money plays at all costs, although with these sliders I haven't really found any.
I will more than likely be using the modding tools to create a 4 team playoff.

    Recruiting Rules: By school prestige
** - Can recruit in state, and any state adjacent to state. Can add uninterested players only if they are 2 star caliber or lower. All interested players may be added and recruited.
*** - Same as ** but I may recruit 2 states away. Uninterested players can be 3 stars.
    **** - Same as ***
***** - Same as **** but I may also recruit in the big 4 states (Cali, Ohio, Texas, Florida). Uninterested 4 star players may be added.
    ****** - No recruiting restrictions.

FAU came up just short in Lincoln last night. However, Owls fans have something to look forward to. Coach Miles Perry took this FAU team in to one of the most hostile environments in all of football and his team took it to the Huskers for 60 minutes. Nebraska was saved by an interception in overtime that sealed the deal.

Coach Perry said after the game that he believes this game gives FAU something to build on. "Nobody expected that game to even be close, so it's a big confidence boost going forward." Perry also added that he believes FAU should have won the game. "We put ourselves in the right position multiple times. Our defense was spectacular in the red zone. When your defense plays that well you have to put up points and help them out, we did not do that today."

FAU faces another grueling test next week as they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

                    A. Glanton returned an INT 66 yards for a touchdown.

FAU limped out of Tuscaloosa after a 55-10 drumming on Saturday. Alabama showcased their superiority and showed football fans why they're the number one team in the country.

"They're good. Real good. And it showed from the first snap. We were rattled, and we couldn't execute anything to save our lives," Perry said after the game, "We also need to figure out a better way to move the ball on the ground. And we can't keep turning the ball over like we have been." The Owls will head back to Boca Raton to prepare for Tulsa in their home opener.

FAU escaped with a win over Tulsa today. The Owls opened the game with an 11 play, 75 yard drive that was capped off by a 7 yard touchdown pass. On the first play of the second quarter Jaquez Johnson connected with William Dukes on a 48 yard touchdown pass to put FAU up 14-6. Tulsa continued to battle back, matching every Owl touchdown with points of their own. The FAU defense played incredibly well, giving up just 299 yards of offense. The bend but don't break mentality kept the Owls in the game.

"I'm very pleased with the way the defense played. We just need to figure out how to make those stops before field goal range. Those guys out there on D got us this W," Perry said after the game. Perry went on to note that the offense had its best performance of the season, finally able to get rolling and score.

The Owls will play host to Middle Tennessee State next week in another CUSA mathchup.
