Very dissapointed in the visuals. Have it on both platforms. Very cloudy visuals, colors and details that should pop, don't. The ice looks like a white sheet of poster board. It reminds me of the jump madden made last year

I agree... I was expecting a more crisper look, more colorful. On the ps4 it looks to washed out. The logos on the ice should stand out more , especially before the game starts. I felt like I needed to adjust my settings on the tv

YES! I was just coming here to post this. I really am enjoying how the game plays, but the cloudy visuals completely ruin the experience for me. I've seen 720p plenty and it is much more detailed and sharper than what I am seeing, so to the previous posters question - I don't think that's it. The best way to describe what I see is imagine taking a non-HD resolution and upscaling it. A part of me is hoping this is because it is just a demo, but that doesn't seem likely.

And in case some of you are wondering, yes I am 100% sure it is not my display. Infamous SS, MLB 14 etc etc all look stunning and super crisp.

I was expecting the graphics to look super and the game play to possibly disappoint. Instead it is the other way around. I am really disappointed by this to the point where I do not plan to purchase the game unless it turns out something is wrong with the demo and its corrected in the real game.

I'd assume its 900p upscaled; that's what most PS4 titles are targeting atleast.

What?

The vast majority of PS4 games are full 1080p, it's the xbox that does the upscaling.

Also in the game details it actually says 720p

Regarding the visuals, I was wanting to get back on board after cancelling my preorder but again I'm going to wait and see what the full retail is like and if they have "fixed" the visuals as right now they do not look good. I feel I could just buy 360 version and it would look similar.

I find the details to be pretty sharp, eventhough whatever is shaded (some part of players face and goalies face under the mask) seem to be way too dark. Contrast seems to be off. Either very bright or dark. But the game play is pretty sweet.

I own both systems, played the demos while switching inputs, and I couldn't tell a difference other than the X1 being slightly darker (due to the Xbone's messed up gamma curve). Other than that they are identical.

Hold on now, don't say false things.
98% of the titles on ps4 are 1080p. only 3 games on the ps4 are 900p.
Xbox one titles tend to target the 900p, 792p, 720p type resolutions.
Please don't send misinformed information. Here is a list of games and their resolutions for Ps4 and Xbox one.

The problem is that at least on PS4 the playstation store indicates that nhl 15 will run only at 720p, instead for example fifa 14 and 15 and UFC run also at 1080p and 1080i, this should be the cause of nhl15 seems blurry...anyway i think that some graphics on demo it's tuned down and on final product also at 720p some things like jersey numbers , player-name, and general lighting ( helmets looks very strange actually)... in the gameplay will looks better.
