I did some research to figure out what the best way to organize it would be. Here's the best blueprint I found: http://community.everybodydancegame..../td-p/22017307
So, we would aim to get a good group of dedicated folks (min 12, max 20), separate randomly into two groups, and then play a round robin format within each group. Our first season would be 8-Ball, and if interest continues, we could do a second season of 9-ball. The format of matches would be "Best of 5", with the caveat that all 5 games would be played (so "Games Won" can serve as a tiebreaker, like how Goal Differential does in soccer leagues). We would play at Pro level (the middle difficulty), unless there is a strong consensus for either the easier or harder difficulty.
Top two people from each Group would play in the semifinals, with those winners meeting in the championship. We would then reshuffle the deck and move on to the 9-ball season.
I would post the schedules each period, and we could have something like 3, 5, or 7 days to complete each match (depending on the consensus on how much time everyone wants/needs).
I know there are a lot of great games out there right now: Madden, Golf Club, Last of Us, with FIFA, NBA 2K, NHL, etc. coming soon, but this would be a nice change of pace that you can play between all of those games.
So.. who's interested? Any questions or ideas?
