If Ben Tate is sidelined for any significant amount of time (and I'm not sure if we know the severity of the injury yet), which of the backups Crowell or West has the biggest upside to target as a potential add?

West is the guy to target based on touches. Both looked really good though as CLE has a really good oline that would make almost any RB look good.

Yeah, Crowell is more of a goal line/short yardage guy from what I hear. But anyone who drafted Tate should've drafted West anyway imo.

Also, Ingram should've already been on a team so he'd be #1 on that list for me. I'll stay away from Hester, he's still 4th on the depth chart... third if White ends up missing time.

I drafted Bernard Pierce predicting a Ray Rice fallout. Unfortunately he got benched after fumbling and Justin Forsett played very well. I'll attempt to pick him up.

I wish I could say more about this situation. If I hear anything around these parts I'll let you guys know.

I've been down on Pierce this year but the news going into the game was that he was the best of the backs for the new zone running scheme. I thought Forsett looked great in the preseason and he was brought in bc he was familiar with the system, and all the news leading up to week 1 was he'd be cut as soon as Rice came back.

We saw what happened in week 1 and, of course, now Rice is gone. But I still don't know what this does to the RB situation in Baltimore. I'd say, if you can, don't drop Pierce just yet, but of course, pick up Forsett if you can. I think I'd agree that Forsett now has the edge over Pierce but that's far from a lock, just fyi. Forsett looked better than Pierce but Flacco threw 62 times so obviously they weren't happy with anyone in the backfield getting too many touches.

will Pierce be in the doghouse? Then Forsett should have some value.

That's the question. He was definitely in the dog house during week 1. Harbs said as much after the game. But who knows for how long... especially now that they need to plan on not having Rice.

Martellus Bennett is somehow available in my league. My tight ends are Charles Clay and Ladarius Green. Do I drop Green or Clay to get Bennett?

Clay was a dud week 1 but is still worth holding onto as he was targeted 6 times against NE. Green had a great mini stretch last year, but then disappeared just as quickly. His time is now with Gates out. You can't go wrong with Bennett though. Cutler targeted him a lot in week 1 and that might continue if Marshall and Jeffrey are hobbled by injuries. He could have a career year.

This situation is awful....even in the world of fantasy football.

                      Fantasy Question...

I picked up Bernard on Friday, assuming if he was going to start two games he might have value...then he fumbled for the first time in his career and was benched for journeyman Justin Forsett...then Forsett tore it up...then the Ray Rice video came out...

I have no clue what to do here. Pierce was praised all off-season as the better fit for the Gary Kubiak running scheme. Forsett is a nice player. I loved his ability in Seattle. But he is small. Has an injury history. And I think Harbaugh might have just been sending a message to Pierce, and then Forsett played well, so he went with him...probably fully expecting to get Ray Rice back week 3.

Our waiver system is by bid. $100 bid all year. I'm at $99. I could go for Forsett. I could go for Markus Wheaton. I could go for Terrance West.

Any thoughts? Is Pierce worth dropping for Forsett? I think I like Pierce's upside over the full season better than Forsett's...and I don't plan to play Forsett in the near future anyways.

The answer is yes but I'm not sure which one you should drop, lol. Review said "Now that Gates is out"... what have you heard? He was listed as questionable going into last night but then dominated the targets and I don't think he got hurt during the game. Assuming there's no more to the story, I think I'd drop Green. He's got a ton of potential but a healthy Gates is still Rivers' #1 target.

This is a tough one, man. Forsett's familiarity with the offense played a huge role on Sunday. The offense sputtered until he got in there. I think they were sending Pierce a message but then I think Forsett made it hard to take him off the field. But, based on all you just mentioned, I still think it's Pierce's job or, at best, a 50/50 split. So I wouldn't drop him for Forsett.

Terence West could be more attractive but we don't know about Tate's knee. If Tate is out then West is a starter. We can assume Tate will be out at some point but do you drop a potential starting RB for that gamble?

Overall I think it depends on what your depth at WR/RB looks like. I like Wheaton better than all of them, all things considered even. But it really depends on what else you have... and how deep your league is. In a 14/16 team league Wheaton really shouldn't even be available, but you should have as many RB possibilities as you can so that may effect how you think too.

I'm going with Houston Defense, at least for this week. Going against a shaky Oakland O with a rookie QB, even without Clowney, could spell trouble, and they racked up 24 fpts for me across all leagues I played them in.

I targeted them in all my drafts and would pick them up and start them most weeks.

Last year I targeted the Chiefs in my drafts and that worked out well.
