It's a shame the lawyers can't get this figured out
I'm playing Madden but I much preferred NCAA with recruiting and teambuilder. The game ended just prior to the next gen machines.

I don't think it will get overruled. I also don't think we will see another NCAA game. Now they are saying players in the NCAA can be compensated for their likeness, and they kills it right there. No way they can make money on that and in the end, that's what it's about.
Maybe down the road in a few years, but don't hold your breath for anything in the near future. -

I figure the only way is for the supreme court to get the case and overturn all of part of the lower court ruling.≡Comment

Re: It's a shame the lawyers can't get this figured out
Some money is better than no money, so if it all shakes out that they can pay for players likeness they probably will come to some agreement with whoever the players license their image out to. It won't be a ton of money and might hardly be any, but like I said, some is better than none.
True, but as I understand, only the "Power Five" conferences can decide to pay players. That leaves out half of the FBS schools.----------------------

I don't think real rosters would make a difference.Comment

I don't like this whole "Power 5" nonsense, especially with how teams in the Big Ten are performing (I should know, lol).
What if I'm a great player, highly recruited, but I want to go to Northern Illinois? Or what if I want to go to an FCS school, say, NORTH DAKOTA STATE (back-to-back-to-back(?) national champions)??? I just don't understand, lol.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

Re: It's a shame the lawyers can't get this figured out
The NCAA decided not to re-up with EA, but if EA could broker a deal, there's no reason why they couldn't ship a game with completely generic players and numbers, that just have ratings that might approximate the general skills of the real player (or even not). They could keep in roster share, I believe legally they aren't responsible for what the end user does with the game, and we can download the rosters. The only downside is that playing online would be with generic rosters. But that's all just speculation on my part. It could be more complicated.Comment
