Week 4: Green Bay Packers (1-2) @ Chicago Bears (2-1)

Who doesn't love a good rivalry? It's Rodgers and the Pack against Daaaa Bears in Chicago.
Bears are fresh off their MNF win in NY, and the Pack were just beaten down by Dey-Twah. Should be a good one. Packers are definitely a better team than their record shows.
FYI, I have now made the last three Packers-Bears game threads. Each team has won once.
Let the memes and jokes begin!

I don't think so. Actually, they could easily be 0-3.

They've played a tough schedule. No one could have expected them to win in Seattle, and they played a great second half against the Jets. Last week was a tough loss.

Packers just don't look right this year. Their Offensive Line is in flux, losing Newhouse, and Dietrich-Smith probably had more of an effect on Rodgers than anticipated; and Bulaga getting dinged up early didn't help either.

Plus it seems like losing guys like Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley, and James Jones through out the years has caught up to them as Rodgers has a lack of reliable targets to go to outside of Jordy/Cobb. Lacy hasn't torn it up either as expected.

The latter has been a bigger issue than the former. O-Line has actually been fine for us so far. Losing Newhouse(who was a turnstile on the line)and EDS hasn't affected us at all.

I am a fan of the team that just got through playing both the Packers and the Bears in a two week span. That should count for something.

I'm just going to stick with my theme of assuming Jay will have an awful game and the Bears will lose. Why?? Because it's working.

Bears are banged up, plus, Rodgers always finds a way to beat these guys.

My predictions for the Pack this week...
Eddie Lacy has a beast mode run to prove he's not a one year fluke.
Peppers sacks Cutler At least once.
A wide receiver not named Cobb. Nelson, or Boykin has a big week and takes over the 3rd wr spot on the depth chart.

                      Pack wins by 10.

I think Green Bay will be a good team by the end of this season but I wouldn't be surprised if they went into Solider Field this weekend and got metaphorically speaking hit by a bus.

Die-hard Packers fan here. I think the Packers play better, but lose. Chicago is really good, and NEEDS this win.

The back half of the schedule is much friendlier to the Packers after opening with 3 of 4 on the road.

                          CHI - 30
                          GB - 27

I will be glad to say I was wrong. But this looks like a Chicago win.

With the next 4 games (v MIN, @ MIA, v CAR, @ NO), the Packers can hit the bye at 4-4. Can't be any worse than that and expect to climb out of it, even with a favorable schedule.

Packers could be 2-1, or 0-3. In the NFL, you are what your record is. The Packers, right now, aren't a great team. Yes, they've played some tough teams. But you have to win some of those games. AT Chicago is another really tough game. Green Bay could leave this game 1-3 with road losses in CHI, DET, and SEA - none of those are bad losses. But you're still 1-3.

It's a long season. But we are where we are.

I think Green Bay needs this win more just due to the records and that they have three divisional games in a row. 1-3 is a huge hole to climb out of. 2-2, not so much.
