    Best Playbooks

What do you think are the most effective playbooks in the game? I need a good one for my team-builder dynasty. So far in my searches my favorites on offense are Oregon and USC. On defense I like the multiple D playbook.

    Re: Best Playbooks

I go with a custom playbook on defense. Features multiple looks but based around the 34.

On offense i go back and forth between a few. Oregon, ole miss, Indiana, and Florida. Also like Alabama's

Research Chip Kelly's playbook for the Ducks is quite brilliant. Custom your playbook is the best to be honest.

            Re: Best Playbooks

I use custom playbook for offense ,but I prefer Multiple Defense or Multiple 4-3. I created 6 offensive playbooks.

            1. Singleback- One Back

            Formations
            Ace- 9
            Pistol- 3
            Shotgun- 3

All formations have one rb while most of them have two tigh ends while some of them have 3 wrs aka slot.

            2. Heavy Gun- Air Raid

            Shotgun- 16

It doesn't have options ,so it has traditional running game ,but it does have some qb draws ,though. That's because it's base on pocket passer not scrambler or balance.

            3. RNS- Run n' Shoot

            Ace- 2
            Shotgun- 10
            Pistol- 3

All formations have one rb and 4 receivers. It doesn't have goalline ,so you will have to rely on shotgun. Oh, it does have options, though. Weird, RNS used to have load of Ace formations ,but there are only two that have 4 wrs now.

            4. Power Run- Multiple

            I-Form- 4
            Strong I- 2
            Weak I- 2
            Power I- 2
            Shotgun- 3

This is basically 1980's i.e. SMU, Georgia, etc, However, it does have shotgun formations ,but they're rather related to hurry up or long yards. Of course, it will always have 2 rbs and te except Shotgun that have slot receiver while Piower I has 3 rbs.

            5. 1980's Pro

            I-Form- 3
            Strong I- 3
            Weak I- 3
            Split Backs- 2
            Shotgun- 4

This is basically 1980's NFL who rejected theory of modern offense i.e. RNS, Spread, one back etc. It usually has 2 rbs and tight end while some of them do have slot wr. You know 1980's had load of split back plays ,but SBs have only 24 plays. I remember Split Back has Jumbo, Tight, Close, and Trio formations

            6. Heavy Run- Option

            Flexbone- 3
            I-Form- 5
            Pistol- 3
            Shotgun-1
            Strong I- 2
            Weak I- 2

Unlike Paul Johnson's Flexbone, it's sort of I-option and Flexbone combine. Oh, Pistol has Fullhouse and 2 Flexbones while only one shotgun that will use for emergency situation i.e. hurry up or long situation. I was disappoint that Flexbone doesn't have many formations with tight ends.

Does anyone know which playbooks most resembles Steve Spurrier's late 90's/early 2000's Florida playbook? I'm guessing Run and Shoot but any others?

I'm not sure about it but Spurrier is the current coach of South Carolina so have a look at their PB...

Those are some of the most complicated routes I've ever seen. You MUST have an elite OL and WR to pull this off. Plus the QB has to read and be able to deliver the ball.

IIRC, Spurrier never had great offensive linemen ,but he did have superb speed receivers.
