Will We Ever See National Teams In The Game?

Will we ever be able to play as the national teams in this game?
Or is there an issue with FIBA that prevents this? If NHL and FIFA
can have national teams why can't NBA 2K? USA, Canada, Spain,
France, Argentina, Brazil, Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Russia, Australia etc.
with the inclusion of Euro League teams last year seems like a great
time to introduce it.

That'd be fun, I never play with Euro teams, but I'd definetely play a tournament with national teams like in the Olympics.

Or maybe they can add a robust CAT mode like FIFA had last gen with its Online Creation Center; that would take care of classic and international teams alike.

I'd hope they'd be in somewhere down the line since Live doesn't have the license anymore. Being able to have your player play in the Olympics in MyCareer or in MyLeague/MyGM

every 2 years. It would be a big selling point to countries outside of
North America.

You could have an online mode where people can play the national
teams against each other or like someone said have the Olympic
experience for MyPlayer.

Would be dumb in the nba. Because the usa team will always win and would be the only good team in the game. Reason why in fifa is one the world cup is the biggest tournament in the world and there are 4-6 national teams that can win it every year instead of just one

Considering Basketball is the 2nd most popular sport world wide plenty
of people wouldn't pick Team USA or maybe they like the challenge of
trying to beat them.

In an Online mode a guy who's like 100-20 and uses Spain, France,
Canada etc could beat a jobber who's 40-70 who's team USA.

So if they cycled the FIBA and Olympics in every 2 years which iteration of 2K would they be placed in? For example if they decided to cover the 2016 olympics, would they put it in 2k16 because it will be 2 months after the 2015-16 season is finished or 2k17 because it will be 2 months before the 2016-17 season?

2k17 since 2k16 comes out 12 months from now. It'll be best to feed off the Olympic hype if they were to do it(obviously being late by a month or so sucks but it's the best possible solution). Also, I remember hearing FIBA has rules stating the rosters have to be of the last event and not the upcoming one. So for example if they wanted to do it for 2k16 they'd have this years world cup team vs. The following summer's Olympic team.(live had this issue in 08 I believe. People wanted the redeem team but all they had was the 06 World Championship squad)

Are we talking about the same crowd that picked the Heat every game for the last 4 years? I would like to believe people would use all the teams but any time wins and losses are being tracked the majority of people will pick the best team. It's the same in NHL. Everyone picks Canada.

Personally I have been waiting for national teams since Live had them (08 I believe). I play with a different team every game. I would get more enjoyment out of playing with Croatia and Dario Saric than Team USA, but I know I am in the minority.

That's bogus and you know it. After our 7 game series with Boston in 2012 and OKC knocked the Spurs off, we were the underdogs. After the ECF in 2013, The Spurs were favorites as well and we knocked them off and they were the favorites in the Finals this year. The only Finals that we weren't the underdogs was in 2011.
