    Cycloniac's Authentic TeamSystems

    A major part of what made the Revamped Rosters such a success was attention to detail. A conscientious effort was made in that regard; from ensuring that simulation stats were realistic by modifying player biases, to aesthetic adjustments such as player face and arena attendance edits.

    In NHL 13, EA NHL introduced custom AI. This was a major innovation, but little attention was paid to it. In an effort to reflect the uniqueness and variety of all 30 NHL teams, I produced custom AI sets for every NHL team, as a part of the Revamped Team. Now, I will explicitly share them with all of you.

    Using data collected by Blue Seat Blogs, team AI has been completely refined. These strategies were also influenced by offensive zone start percentages (to illustrate possession-based vs rush-based teams), and number of goals scored (to separate offensive teams, balanced teams, and defensive-minded teams).

          We can't, unfortunately. Unless EA decides to patch custom AI back in.

              If you're looking to update Pittsburgh in light of the coaching change, early on it looks like:
              • 2-3 forecheck with 1-3-1 neutral zone using a high forecheck bias would best capture what they're doing.
              • Aggressive offensive pressure (at least!) for sure. Defensive zone play doesn't stand out as too extreme either way, so maybe play it safe with Staggered/Normal.
              • Closest PP is Umbrella and PK is probably Large Box.
              • Johnston stresses puck possession, so unlike Bylsma's teams, the dump/carry bias should favor carry for all lines.

                Good insight on the pens, wouldn't the lines favor cycle more rather than shooting as well. Also would the d pinch more as well for all 3 d lines

                    You should be able to put custom strategies in on Next Gen to. I did it on the demo. Go into a game, switch to the other team and put strategies in. Then switch back to the team you want to use. They should stick as long as you don't have the CPU Strategy adjustment slider jacked.

                          This was done so that teams would utilize both forechecking and neutral zone play at the begining of the game. As the game progresses, a team may neglect neutral zone play and forecheck more, if it is losing or vice versa.

                          If you're playing against the Bruins, you need to be wary of both their forecheck, and their infamous 1-4 neutral zone trap as the game begins.

                          I tried NZ-FC at 0, and that leads to the no forechecking issue. I tried NZ-FC maxed, and that leads to too many odd-man rushes out of the gate. Hence, 5 is the best value.

                            Thanks for the strategies cycloniac, really appreciate it. For the Pens tho I agree with the other post, forecheck should be 2-3 and neutral zone 1-3-1. Plus new coach Mike Johnston's system is more of a puck possession style so for all lines the carry/dump should lean more towards carry for all. Also idk if it can be replicated they are wanting to have the break out be all as one with more d to d passes if needed instead of the long stretch passes and such( less turnovers in our own end, thank god lol) in bylsma's system so idk if there's a way to set that up or if u just gotta do it yourself in the game but all in all looks good man thanks again

                              Thanks for this. It's really too bad I have to input them before each game. There is no way to save them in BE A GM mode; unless I am missing the menu somewhere.

                              Also would be nice to be able to set them for the opposing team. Damn. Just so much to be desired. Taking away from a decent playing hockey game.
