Players need to get behind the 3 point line
Gameplay is solid this year, but this is driving me nuts. Guys are taking WAY too many shots with their foot on the line. Is it possible to fix this in a patch? I'm sick of accidentally taking deep twos (worst shot in basketball). Also, I think this is one of the reasons why CPU 3 point attempts are too low this year.Tags: None -
Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
Agreed. One of my biggest pet peeves is the player in the corner standing a foot or two inside the line. Number 1 it hurts spacing and number 2 as you mentioned the long 2 is the worst shot in basketball. -
Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
Devs don't seem to be able to decide on whether to automatically get the guy standing on the line behind it or let us shoot long 2ss for no reason. They seem put sliding behind the line in the game and next year take it out. I think they've changed it 4 times now at least.
While players do in real life get their foot on the line every now and again, they usually get it right, and if they're on the line they have a quick way of getting behind it. The movement isn't that precise in 2K15 that you can just fix it yourself instantly and players seem to depending on their shooting animation get their foot on the line annoyingly often, especially in the corner where there isn't much space.Comment

Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
YES. Too many times I've taken the open shot because I thought I was behind the line only to find out I had a foot on the line. I'd rather take the space and drive if I knew I wasn't going to be behind the line. I do agree that it needs to happen, players do step on the line from time to time, but most of the time they know where their feet are.Comment

Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
I agree.
Question : has anyone actually checked replays to see if the player's foot is actually on the line? Because if he is really behind it, but the game counts it as a 2-pointer, that is a bigger problem altogether. I haven't checked because I thought it was just me not really paying attention to the line, but since it seems like a widespread issue, we should start paying attention to the replays.Last edited by prolifik; 10-14-2014, 01:42 PM.PSN: jestik1

Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
I went back to check a MyTeam game that went to overtime as I kept getting open looks in the corners and my guys always managed to get a toe on the line to make them just two point shots.Question : has anyone actually checked replays to see if the player's foot is actually on the line? Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
I've had this happen on numerous occasions! gets so frustrating.
I actually went into some replays and i visibly behind the line but it was registering as 2 points zzzzzzzComment

Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
Is it just me or does it feel like in the corners there's barely enough space for the player models to fit? I feel like that's why corner shots sometimes end up as two's.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

I agree with you. It's not a problem for the CPU though.Dolphins - Hurricanes - Heat - Raptors

Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
In reality the space there is quite small. Just a couple of feet. It's a 22 foot shot on either side of a 50-foot court.
But yes, the AI has to have much better court awareness around the 3 point line. It's one of the bigger gameplay problems in 2k15Comment

Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
This is definitely a major problem. I love to drive and kick out to spot up shooters. Instead of staying behind the 3-point line like I expect spot up shooters to do, all too often they're over the line and I take long two's. Ridiculous. This didn't happen in 2K14. This is a MUST fix problem, IMO.Comment

Have you tried running the 3 out 2 in or the 4 out 1 in offensive sets? You have to change motion cuts to space the floor. Your spot up shooters should be positioned outside the three point line automatically in those two sets.Comment

Re: Players need to get behind the damn 3 point line
Hopefully this is patchable. I have the CPU's take 3 point shots slider at 100 yet they still will only shoot 12 a game thanks in part to this issue.Die hard Heat and Dolphins fan since '89
