    PES 2015 Impressions

Not sure if this thread is appropriate yet, but mods can delete it if they want.

Just got the PS4 retail disc version. Played my first game on Professional. 15 min. -1 speed. Played and AFC Champions League game using Western Sydney vs Central Coast. The game played really good. Ended up a scoreless draw. I managed to get off 10 shots with 47% possession.

The cpu AI started the game playing very relaxed and in a defensive state. I was able to pass around in the midfield with not much pressure. I also noticed the cpu was content to pass it around in their own half without much urgency to get forward.

2nd half was a different story. The cpu got a bit more agressive and appeared to be trying for a late winner. I gotta get used to the new tactical options.

I didn't notice any bad keeper AI. It was pretty good actually. The only negative so far was of course, the lack of fouls. 1 foul in the entire game and it was committed by the cpu.

Did the stadium editor make the stadiums somewhat different? We're the new Div 2 teams have relative names ( say Norfolk for Norwich) or the usual St Tragler names we've had for years? Did you mess around with kit editor and does it look improved? Sorry to ask so many questions

Didn't look at the 2nd div teams much, but I did see that there's Norfolk City. Looked at the stadium editor briefly to see the options, but I haven't played with an edited stadium in game. As for the kit editor, it's very basic. Pick your templates, layers, colors, emblem on or off and that's about it. Wish there would have been at least a paint type of editor to draw your own designs on the kits.

      EDIT:

Tried an edited stadium and in game I can't see much of a difference. Also, rain is not visible (at least i can't see it) during actual gameplay and doesn't seem to have an effect on gameplay. You can only see it during replays.

Still no fouls being called. The keeper doesn't unnecessarily parry the ball anymore. That's good.

Thanks for the info. Can you still draw and create your own sponsors on the kits like last year? And sorry for all the questions, appreciate it bro.

on PS4, you CAN'T draw images or logos, etc... We're stuck with default logos/emblems

I thought I saw where you could draw say ABC as your sponsor on the front or back.

Just got a 1.13 GB update file. Not sure what all is included in it, but I do know that I got some new boots.

Rckabilly, Thanks for the gameplay impressions, sounds promising, and hoepefully an early patch will address the lack of fouls. Seems it should have already been addressed between the demo and retail though.

Looks like it is player faces and transfers as well.

Hopefully it increases fouls called. The gameplay I have seen looks nice but if they don't fix the fouls then I am out.

The lack of fouls is certainly going to irritate me but If everything else is solid that gives me happy and gives hope that they will address the lack of fouls eventually if they already haven't as sometimes they release a day one patch. Still not sure if I should pick it up for the PS3 tomorrow or wait to pick it up when I get my PS4 in the next few weeks. I will say I need my option files though, hmmm.

                          Re: PES 2015 Impressions

Reviews are going up, and it sounds like PES is the game a lot of us have been waiting for. Can't wait to get this one downloaded (I'm in China at the moment, FML this could take a while).

I read one review, however, where they complained about a delay in passing... I never felt that in the demo, and haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else. Anyone feeling that with the recently updated retail code?

It's been 3 months (or more?) that I've "complained" about the total lack of fouls. What did KONAMI do all these months? Nothing. That's ridiculous. How about 2k releases a NBA2k title without fouls or 1 foul in total every game? Or a NHL title without penalties?
Fouls are a rule of football. Like penalties, like offsides. One of he most important too as there is a whole strategy behind the foul system. KONAMI releases a game of football without this rule! The same did EA the previous years and they finally implemented fouls this year.
That said, I'm not buying this game until KONAMI devs wake up and release a Fouls DLC.
And now I'm ready to Kickstart my new NFL videogame project. Without playbooks.

I certainly hope they can improve the fouling but it's not the only game with that issue. NBA2K has major issues with not enough fouls and Madden as well with penalties.

                              Thanks for the impressions rckabilly
