Why do a lot of bigs shoot bricks for 3PTs?

I just do not get why a player like Brook Lopez who has an 82 standing medium shot has a 25 3PT rating. I was in practice trying to perfect the release but it's near impossible, I get a lot of F grades like WTF? He is a professional basketball player, he should be able to shoot a 3 pointer. Giving him a 25 is blasphemous ...

Brook Lopez has never hit a 3 pointer in his career.

"he should be able to shoot one" is based on what?

He doesn't make any 3's in the game because he doesn't make any 3's in real life. Now yes, I'll bet if Lopez was shooting around in an empty gym he would make some, but shooting stats in NBA 2K are a reflection of what guys do in a live game situation, not shooting by themselves. I've shot around with people who had never even touched a basketball before and even they were able to throw a couple of 3 pointers in ... doesn't mean I'd want to hit them with a drive-and-kick in an actual game though.

Anyone here remember when the low rating for players was 50?.......

The crazy things happen in the game because of the low 50 rating. Shaq hitting 3's.

Most players, including the shortest point guards, can dunk if nobody is guarding them. So by your logic every single player should have at least a 60 dunk rating regardless if they've never dunked in an NBA game before.

Lol, bigs can have a mid but very rarely can shoot accurate distance because of their hand size. It's hard to get desirable English on the ball and control the shot. This is also why they usually aren't good FT shooters since FT also rely on desirable spin.

This is kind of a loaded question though. What you think should be and what you don't know are two different things.

Well my kind sir, Brook Lopez does not make threes in real life so how could you make one in 2k? I mean if someone like Dirk had a 25 then that's something worth complaining about. Maybe practice with another player?

Kawhi Leonard hands are amongst the biggest in the league, yet he can hit 3s just fine. Antetokoumpo's hands are even bigger than Leonard's and he's not a terrible shooter. Hakeem had huge hands, as did David Robinson and Arvydas Sabonis. All 3 were very dependable at the line. Sabonis also was a 3 point threat. I can go on and on listing guys, at any position, who has big hands but can hit free throws and/or 3s. Lebrons hands are bigger than Shaq's. Michael Jordan hands were almost as big as Wilt Chamberlain's but MJ's rotation was perfect every single time. Hand size has very little to do with shooting accurately. It's a myth.

Watching the real NBA highlights last night, LaMarcus A hit one three point, however he was all alone and had what seemed like an eternity to shoot it.
