Is 2K basketball an amazing improvement on PS4?

I'm trying to decide to upgrade from PS3 to PS4. I only play sports games, and which ever one is in season.

Will I be blown away with the improvements of the PS4 or is it just a bit better graphics and a bunch of cut scenes and cheer leaders and announcer clips. Because I X thru all of that stuff as fast as I can X to get back to the game. Granted, I may watch the cheerleaders do there dance bit routines a time or twice.

But, does anything really happen "better" or is the picture that much more phenomenal?

I'm pretty sure this is about the thousandth identical post so...sorry, but thanks in advance if you reply.

It can't be put into words really. The improvement is monumental and worth every penny from a GAMEPLAY and TRUE basketball point of view...it's one of those "Shut up and take my money type of situations" Idk I REALLY can't explain it in words, the only word I can use to talk about the jump from ps3 to ps4 is epic (from a 2K standpoint). And that's not my opinion that's a fact...and anyone who would say otherwise is dead wrong.

yes its an improvement but there are some frustrating issues with this game. I think if they are not addressed Im making the switch to live. What I find is that the developers have made a jacked up game of basketball where the CPU plays at unrealistic levels and we the user are left with a 100 plus controls to figure out on how to stop them. The AI shooting % are off the charts some times. What kills me is when I execute on offense and get the wide open high % shot, I miss because of a jacked up shot meter..continuously. The AI continues to torch and burn from all aspects of the court. They basically made shooting harder and defense harder and jacked the AI up to super teams, therefore leaving a very unbalanced game to me which makes no sense.

The awful animations that my players get stuck in often results in hurting my team because while the animation is playing out the AI is off and running or rebounding and scoring.

Im also noticing a conflict with the X button on passing. If you pass and there is a lose ball. The player you just passed with automatically becomes a defensive player and if you hit X by accident you take control of another player where the ball was intended to go and the passer is standing there looking stupid and doesn't get to the loose ball and the AI gets its and scores.

There are some serious issues with this game if you try to play at a level above All star...lets face it anyone who plays on all star or below would think the game is great because those levels are so easy..

There are some annoyances, but its an amazing game. Especially offline.

I don't see what is amazing when the game is unbalanced and we have to work so hard do things that the AI does. I can do the exact same things they do, shoot wide open shots and get near perfect release and miss 4,5, and 6 times in the row and the AI continually comes down court and sink 3's, jumpers with D all over, blow right by my D, rebound after rebound. What is amazing because they made the pro stick moves realistic or players mimic themselves. That doesn't mean anything If the gameplay is broken, in which it is. If I see that annoying thing on offense and defense than I'm playing an annoying game that is in need of having those issues addressed

              The gameplay is not broken.

That word gets thrown around on here far too often, without an understanding of what 'broken' means.

Well give me some facts because to prove otherwise because I have stated mine and there are other posts that directly state other gameplay issues that make the game impossible to play for those of us who have known the 2K series

Overall the game is a fun game to play and if your like most 2k fans, you will put 60-100 hours into the game. I mainly play MyCareer, MyPark/Rec so what I'm about to say pertains to that. The only problem I have is that my teammates are still not fixed and play even worse after the patch. So this forces me to put up MVP like stats in my first season.

Im not saying there arent some issues. There are.

But the game is not broken. Broken implies the most fundamental features of the game don't work or the gameplay offers no redeeming features.

Don't use the phrase 'impossible to play'. That is not true.

There are some aspects of the gameplay you do not like. That is not broken.

I would say broken, take away a the other features and I'm talking about 5 on 5 NBA team basketball simulation, the gameplay is bad. That's the core of the game a representation of NBA basketball.

Well.....there is serious adjusting that needs to happen in the PS3 version as well.

What I like to do is play in Pro and then dummy down all of the sliders. It takes a while to get it right....but, I can't play on All Pro or better.....

I think I may have it right since I can't seem to get my Pistons to win anything....sigh. But yes, I usually do want to win...I just want it to seem realistic with my team making baskets with the same consistency as the opponent....

I can't decide. I work midnights and the only time I use the game is Saturday and Sunday Night as I'm up alone in the middle of the night. Sigh

You'd be in the vast minority of posters then.

I made the jump this year. I'm an offline play guy only, I play the MyFranchise only as well. It's the experience I enjoy. Since the patch and with correct sliders I'm enjoying the experience. I notice teams play a little closer to true life. Griz will punish you down low in the paint. Clips / Warriors will run you. Spurs control temp and seem to work the ball for the efficient shot.

I play as the T'wolves, wanted a challenge with a weaker team with some talent. I just restarted my franchise over after 25 games in. 3 games in now I'm 1-2. Memphis and Chicago too much for me though I hung around. Took care of Detroit for my only win.

The one note I would say is learn the defensive controls. If you can't play defense on your man you'll get extremely frustrated. I usually try to guard the other teams point. I think it's the best challenge. Learning the controls as a big man is much easier.

If you are an offline franchise guy, I think it's worth the move if you have the funds with no frills to spend it.

Though I will say next year I will not purchase until Xmas. With the errors in this game release it was not enjoyable until a few days ago. Plus it was on Amazon for $25. Could've saved some money too.

I agree that the game can irk you and make you want throw your controller... I like the game a lot, but like a lot of people have said, the animations are what takes away from this game. They are slow and you can't come out of them, some don't make sense in certain situations. CPU Al is always one step ahead of you, they get every lose ball every tipped ball, your Al players seem way dummed down compared to the computer Al..

I feel like if there's a loose ball or something, my Al players should be just as alert as the CPU Al.
