How to keep your CFM sim (house rules)?
After three seasons I have developed a mega team was wondering how you guys run your CFM to make it fair and challenging.Cal is turning more guys into millionaires than wall-street.
Everyone went pro from the 2012 Kentucky team even the ball boy!Tags: None -
Re: How to keep your CFM sim (house rules)?
Addressing "mega team" issue by:
Self-limit FA signings (don't sign the best at a position, and/or only 1-2 big signings per season)
Self-limit re-signings (after great season, lose some good players that would have IRL probably sought bigger paychecks)
Try to operate well below salary cap
Increase injury rate to 53ish -

Lol it's funny you say self re signings as a good chunk of my team needs to be resigned and these are my better players. So I'll let a few leave tough to pick which hahaCal is turning more guys into millionaires than wall-street.

Re: How to keep your CFM sim (house rules)?
I allow myself 1 player trade per year and it must be for a player on the trade block. If I want to get rid of players with bad contracts I have to cut them and eat the dead money.
I only use weekly prep development on Rookies rated less than 75 ovr, otherwise it's too easy to develop crazy depth on a roster.
Only allowed to sign one FA that is rated in the top 5 of his position in a given FA class.
Don't make any new offers to FAs in stage 3 of free agency. There's a flaw/glitch in free agency that can be easily exploited in stage 3 that can allow you to easily sign players for cheap. Only update offers that were already established before stage 3.Last edited by thejackal25; 01-10-2015, 07:18 PM.XBL Gamertag- thejackal25Comment

Re: How to keep your CFM sim (house rules)?
Returned M15 this year but for scouting I usually do this
Not allowed to scout awareness at all or QB accuracy
All physical stats are allowed to be scouted for any round (speed, strength etc.)
1st Round: 3 position based traits (juke, pass block, throw power etc)
2nd Round: 2 postion based traits
4-5th Round: 1 position based trait
6-7: 0Comment

To kind of piggie back off this..here is what I do..disclaimer some I got from other members here.
I only allow myself to resign 1 of my own guys (in season)...
All others must be allowed to enter open market..(U can resign but they have to enter open market)
During signing period I only allow multi year contracts total (20 years) example I can only sign a total of 5 guys to contracts if I (sign one guy to 6 year deal, one guy to 5 year deal, one 4 year deal, one 3 year deal and 2 year deal..all other deals can only be 1 year deals..only catch to that (you can sign 10 guys but all must be 2 year deals) so use the 20 years of contracts as u plz..
Draft..can only scout physical traits as already stated by others..also picks in rounds 1-4 must stay on my team the whole length of contract...5-7 I can cut as I PLZ...
Trades..can't trade unless during draft day or as stated player is on trade block...also must have a pick in each round...can only have one extra pick in rounds 1-3..and only have 2 extra picks 4-7....last thing..during season..I try my best with subs to only use 46 players..there are some special teams subs u can't make..but I do my best
