    OSFM 15: Oakland Athletics

After a flurry of trades and moves the A's might be winding down this offseason. Even though some moves have hurt me and haunted me I'll try and forgive Billy (though that may not happen). Regardless, I did the OSFM roster for the A's last year and I would love to do them again. Here is my roster as of right now. (players subject to change). First off, when he isn't hurt you will love watching Brett Lawrie play, Graveman and Nolin I personally think will do very well I Oakland, Nolin was underused because of our idiot manager and Graveman looked very solid.

I'm not sure Nolin will be in the game and if it is the same face as last year, it was horrible. He has only played 2 games. I worked hard for years to get Barreto and McGuires faces, feel free to use them from last year's roster if you would like to

You'll need to add Barry Zito to your list. He signed a Minor League deal.

Without really looking closely into the names (and never really contributing much to rosters in the past) it seems like there is a ton of A and B guys on this list compared to other teams who have much more of a mix into the C’s and D’s.

i get that a lot but thats because I'm doing their full ceiling not a mixture of floor and ceiling and you'd be surprised how deep the a's farm system is potential-wise

I agree with you that the farm is deeper than most give credit for. I still disagree with you doing their full ceiling because their potential will go up if they perform well - and if they are already at their ceiling than they have now outperformed their ceiling. You've also made them better in relation to other teams. I just wanted to give you fair warning. It is no whoop to me as I will just go in and lower them all like I remember having to do with the Mets last year as they were all overrated.

A's picked up Alex Hassan from waivers. Bother he and Chad Smith should already be in MLB 15.

When rating prospects you do not put their potential at their ceiling. In doing so, all of the top 20 prospects would have a potential of around 95+ because they all CAN do that, but they won't. You have to put their potential at a realistic mark.

For example, Buxton has the potential be a 99 overall, but his potential should really only be a 94 or so and either he or Kris Bryant should be the highest in the game. Prospects do not to be rated higher than a 94. There should only be 2 maybe 3 prospects rated about a 90.

Otherwise in 5 years time, 90 overall players are a dime a dozen and teams will have multiple 99 overall players.

idk bout 2 or 3. theres not even that little amount in the hybrid...u mean to tell me out of Correa, Moncada, Bryant, Buxton, Pederson, Lindor, Russell, Giolito that only 2 or 3 of just those studs can only have a "A Potential"? thats no accurate at all sorry. Tell a Astros fan that Correa is a "B Potential"....they will laugh in ur face. There's probably a good 25 prospects that deserve an "A Potential"

Yes I do mean that. The problem is if you give 25 prospects A potential, within 5 years, 20+ will be 90+ overall. Do you honestly think there should be that many players with such a high overall? MLB the Show does not accurately represent prospects busting and or not living up to their potential and so we must adjust.

You have to look at it in relation to the other prospects.

If you have 100 prospects rated on a 0-100 scale (100 being the best), if the number overall guy is an 88 or 89 potential is the third best prospect but the first is a 94 overall then you can see how it's alright. You might first look at say "How can he be a B potential!? He's clearly a star!" That is true, and if 88 potential is the third highest among prospects, is his 3rd best prospect evaluation wrong? Third is way to low?
