    Information Packet For EA

Here is a link to a packet I have passed along to several members of the Game Changers program, in the confident hope that they will bring it to the attention of EA. It is available for public observation, and should there be enough support a second iteration may be forthcoming.

    A brief précis:
I discuss gameplay aspects, modes, community interaction, and a variety topics in the packet. Problems and fixes are listed, along with suggestions, praises, and critiques.

Feel free to give it a download and let me know your thoughts, good or bad.

Absolutely superb write up man. Thank you for the mention in there too. I sincerely hope they read this.

The way I see it, EA should drop all the other leagues and put the focus solely on NHL and AHL (maybe CHL too). That way they could use the full scale on player attributes. I'm from Finland and I couldn't care less about playing the local Liiga. If I buy an NHL game, I want to play (infact, coach) NHL teams, not Finnish teams.

I actually agree with this. You don't see the CFL in Madden, the Japanese league in The Show, or Argentinian basketball in NBA 2k. The game says NHL. I want to play with the North American teams. I'd rather see the ECHL in the game than the Czech league since it has a much bigger impact on the NHL.

Today I have followed up with the GameChangers that I originally messaged and also contacted one that I missed. Waiting to hear confirmation/replies.

Great work! Does anyone know if they have a follow-up meeting scheduled for this group, or is it a one-and-done thing? Let's hope one of those "game-changers" gets this into the right hands.

I am certain there will be future meetings.

Confirmation from Oohwayy that he passed it along, kudos to him for that. Up to the devs now.

Nice! Thanks Oohwayy. If I put horse racing odds on one of the dev's actually reading it though, I'd say it would be 99-1. But hey, at least we have a horse in the race now!

Exactly. Perhaps a few of us can get in touch with Oohwayy via twitter and give him a little extra push to bring this along to the next meeting. Nothing included in the info pack would be an unreasonable request for the dev. team to at least look at.

I agree they should get rid of all the foreign leagues, meaning Czech league, Swedish elite league, etc. But keep the Junior hockey leagues in Canada. Because they are such a huge part of the game. 75% of the players in the NHL came from the Junior leagues.

Or, perhaps he could get in touch with us. You know, like he promised to do and then hasn't been seen around here since.

This is like living in a town where the mayor is from a totally other state on the opposite end of the country. He shows up a week before the election and somehow wins it because of a set of circumstances the town didn't realize existed within the voting. Then he moves back to the other state, but is still running our town without knowing anything about it or what is going on in it.

How are we being represented? What makes any of you believe that this guy will get your ideas anywhere if he can't even keep a simple promise like showing up here every so often?

Do what you all want, I hope it works out. But I am not chasing anyone down when it is clear that I am not a priority to them in the least.

Why didn't EA just throw 2 more spots in from their own website if they weren't even going to take OS guys? It doesn't make any sense. I just really don't like that our two "representatives" came in here knowing that they would have a better chance of getting voted in than if they went over to the EA forums. And I can't stand the fact that they are representing OS in every aspect of the game now - not just EASHL. OS guys could have made a difference in BaGM. Now we have a bunch of EASHL guys talking about BaGM and they won't give it its due justice because they don't even play the mode.

This whole process has just been awful.

I don't know. Why didn't they just hold an in-house vote for OS if it was our representative? You should have had to have been registered on this site to vote. That could have at least forced people to sign-up and give this site some traffic if they weren't a member here already.

I don't mean to keep complaining about this, but it really pisses me off and to an extent is a parallel as to what is going wrong at EA with this game almost. Everything seems to be mismanaged and nothing is getting accomplished.

Look at what SCEA is doing with their streams! They are having the developers sit down and play a work in progress game for the hardcore gamers. They are interacting with this community specifically and working with us daily to get things fixed and appease our wish lists in the best way they possibly can.

I hate to compare different games all of the time, but the staffs for both of these games are probably very similar in size and funding. One just goes above and beyond and the other goes out of its way to underachieve... and the final products and overall sales show it.

Couldn't agree more. The process has really been a joke. There are many members here who have a great grasp on what would make an unbelievable GM/Franchise mode.
