Freelance and Plays wishlist

What's good fam. Just wanted to see what you guys had as far as hopes wishes and dreams for 2k16 in terms of Plays and possible freelance offenses you would hope to see.

If there is a specific play your wanting, including a video or link of a team running it this year will greatly increase your success rate but obviously not everything will make it.

Jerry Sloan's Flex offense was so damn sexy it should have come with parental advisory. Would love to see it as a freelance offense.

Also create a play in 2k16 would justify a celebratory 10 minute loop of Prince's 'Purple Rain'.

1. Can you give me dribble hand-offs where Noah initiates the offense of the Bulls. I will have to find video of it but that is pretty unique. I think you know what I am talking about but he is the only center in the NBA initiating dribble handoffs out to the 3pt line

2. More zippers, with options to branch and go different directions based off how the defense is playing you in the Spurs playbook.

3. Can we get more elevators, that involve pics being set on the sidelines

4. Can I get more of those Kyle Korver type plays where he sets the screen and flares to the 3pt line as the cutter breaks to the basket, except I want them to have to ability to branch off say if the human is over playing one direction he can read and react. Hawks be killing it with those plays

5. 2K12 had some really nice plays for Dallas can you bring back Heat Killer I think it was called and some of the plays where there are multiple options for one player Dallas P Dirty. You know what I mean.

6. I got this from Sam Pham is it possible to chain two plays together and make them one play as an option. Say a play is pick and roll that ends on the side if nothing opens up the play branches to another pick and roll out of the same set. I want this to be one play though.

The ability to add custom plays online without the game disconnecting like it does now. Example, let's say you use the Pelicans and change the playbook to the Clippers playbook, the game will play just fine, but if you add another play to the Clippers playbook, the game will disconnect.

Play Types Give us the Ability to Assign 3pt, BUT if we go in playbooks and assign a SF 3pt play ALL SFs have the Ability to Run that play. I want the ability to call Plays for ONLY Melo or ONLY Lebron.

So much this...There are several 3pt plays in the Hornets playbook that I would love to run specifically for players like Hairston in MC but generally they are run for Walker eventhough Hairston currently has the higher 3pt rating and a couple shooting badges.

I have one recommendation regarding layout and classification.
Change "Mid-range" and "3PT" plays to "Off-Screen" and "Hand-Off" plays.

Statistically, wings are more likely to come off a screen than they are to get a Hand-off. Running a screen requires more physicality and pin-point passing from the playmaker. A Hand-off is basically a high Pick and Roll with the ball in the C/PF's hands instead of the guards.

I think the separation between MR and 3PT has run it's course, just about every "shooter" in the NBA has 3pt range and the longer shot is regarded as the better one (due to value and spacing). Strategically a team can have Screen plays designed to get either Mid-range and 3PT looks, and if designed specifically for one look or the other can simply be listed in the play-type (and can still be coded as normal).

PGs generally log more hand-offs than they do screen plays, which can't be said for any other position. They aren't getting their "Mid-range/3PT" looks the same way Korver gets his.

Even without the position difference, this change would also allow for greater separation in play-types for a truly elite shooting wing like Korver compared to a non-shooting scrub like Kent Bazemore who shares the same play types at present (Korver's really the only player on the team who should even be getting these plays, but that's a separate issue).

My wish is for you to implement the free-lance philosophy of the Alanta Hawk offensive scheme as the basic go-to for both the Alanta Hawks and the MyCareer play-sets.

If the AI were to approach each broken play or free-lance option set from this perspective, I believe it would be more organic and flexible in the way it solves its decision making structures.

The philosophy (as stated by Jeff Teague) is in my signature and it is so basic that it could be applied by anyone in any mode, offline or online.

Do not hold the ball for more than two seconds, and when somebody drives, others have to account for: the low block, the top of the circle and the 45-degree marks on the wings.

This is one of my favorite NBA plays this year. It comes out of a Horns Set, which i am hoping can be added in as a freelance for 2k16.

Whats deadly here is that as West rolls in, Hibbert held his ground at the opposite high post while Hill cut from strong side corner to weakside wing. This allowed Stuckey to pass the ball off to Hibbert and let Hibbert survey the court for passes. Hibbert had two looks:

1) David West Rolling to the rim
2) George Hill coming off a screen set in the low block

Hopefully for 2k16 we can get a Horns Freelance and also more plays that involved big man creating opportunities for teammates via the high post. Last note, as it is currently 3-2 space the floor have both bigs in the low block. I think it would make more sense if one big is in the high post while the other big is in the low block for a 3-2. Thanks for doing this Da_Czar. I can talk about these for days lol And i got youtube NBA videos to go with all of them haha

The play types are a trade off to allow more plays in the teams playbooks. Assigning plays to players serverly limits the amount of plays you can have assigned in game at one time.

That is why older games who let you assign plays to player had a max of like 4 plays per player or like the other game used to have 8 plays total that you could access in game.

How bad do you want to assign plays to players ? Bad enough to be cool with 4 plays per player ?

Other issues with plays per player is player movement and trades especially inside career modes etc.

No game has allowed you access to as many plays as 2k in game but there is the tradeoff of no direct assignment to players.

I'm actually pretty happy with the playbooks this year. My biggest wish for 2k16 is that the plays are run with a little more urgency. I think a big part of that would be more range of speed; I would like to see players explode and sprint when coming off a screen, and have a lot of changes in speed to throw off the defense.

This may be a stupid question, but why would assigning plays to individual players necessarily limit the amount of plays available? I understand older games had a max of like 4 per player, but why would that max have to exist in a new game?
