    PS3 v PS4

I have a PS3. Is this year's game worth getting for my console? What are the main differences between next gen and last gen?

    Thanks!

There is a big feature set somewhere.

Honestly, I could live with playing the PS3 versions still. As much as I was in awe over the lighting the first time I popped in this game, I also said to myself, "Meh, I still see remnants of MLB 06: The Show in this game." That's not a knock at all, but there hasn't been too much rebuilding from year to year, just improving on the previous foundation (which is pretty much okay for everybody).

If you have MLB 14 for PS3, the gameplay improvements might not be there, but there is benefit that you can still carry over your franchise/RttS from that year to this year to make things easier.

Thanks for the input. Have you seen any lag? Saw that somewhere in another thread.

No lag to my knowledge. Perhaps people are referring to "slowdown," which is really just choppy framerates during cutscenes that might not be visible on the PS3 version. No lag, though... not even with Remote Play (one of the biggest benefits of the PS4 version for me).

Is it worth getting a PS4? without a doubt I say it is. It is the main reason I will get a PS4 at Christmas when the price goes down AND the kinks are out of '15.

Huge improvement. The list is rather expensive with many awesome features that us with PS3 do not get - the radio show is what I long for.

Sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, the PS4 isn't really within my budget at the moment.

Totally agree on the radio show...

I am going to wait until next year. I think the PS3 version is awesome. While I have no doubt the ps4 version is better I do not feel like I am missing out on the general experience.

Next year the ps4 will probably be 100 bucks cheaper and there likely will be no PS3 version. I don't really see any other games I am dying to play. This holiday season seems about right.

The problem with PS4 (and X1 ofc) is the lack of titles right now. I have a gaming pc and except Bloodborne (and MLB 15) I can't see anything else interesting for me on PS4. I'll wait for the 3rd or 4th year of the console because I'm interested on PS exclusive titles.

Are PS3 games compatible with PS4? I really only play Madden, NBA Y2K and The Show. But Christmas is what I'm aiming for. Then wait for a used PS4 '15

With Uncharted delayed I am waiting on the console upgrade myself. There seem to be quite a few enhancements to TS this year but not worth a console upgrade for me at this point. If I already had the new console i would grab it for $40 but the PS3 versions of the game are enough for me at this point. Some new commentary please. Seems like the best hockey and baseball commentator on these video games is out of work currently.

No, but NBA 2K14 is available on PlayStation Now.

Does the ps3 version still have the classic stadiums?

I bought my PS4 solely to play MLB: The Show...just like I did when I first bought my PS3 back in 08. I do wish there was a bundle deal when the game came out but I bought my system, The Last of Us and a $50/gift card @ Target for $399...so I bought a PS4 and 2 games (used the card on MLB: TS) for $399.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.
