Onyx Kobe users: how can you stand him?

The most annoying release in the game for me. Too fast to actually time by sight. Too slow to just tap the button. He also misses tons of shots he should be making. Just overall a very bad shooter and not even a great finisher at the rim considering his stats.

    Any advice?

I can see why a lot of people don't like his release but I love it.

Kobe does well in my of my games. If he doesn't then Richmond and Jordan takes his place. I agree on his shooting that he doesn't make a lot of the shots that he's supposed to make. 90+ mid and 90+ 3 but he does have a lot of cold spots and a volume shooter. Maybe that's why.

I will never sell him because I actually pulled him from a throwback thursday pack. Basically my trophy.

The release is when the ball reaches his head and bends his knees. Simple.

Man OYNX Kobe be killing it for me, I wish I could find out what the release is so I can change it on my regular roster. I love that shot he rarely misses a shot he literally carries my team on his shoulders.

I've played with both Ruby Frobe and Onyx Kobe and I can definitely tell the shot animation on the onyx version is quicker. It took me quite a while to get Ruby Frobe's shot down and now that I have the onyx version, it's easy for me.

Re: Onyx Kobe users: how can you stand him?

I was all excited after picking up Onyx Kobe last night on the AH after all the locker codes were being redeemed. My Kobe era lasted less than 24 hours. Couldn't shoot with him at all. AT ALL. Gave me a headache and I was like screw it, sold him and took a loss. Went back to gold Kobe, who's still money as ever.

I've changed my opinion since I made this thread.

Offline, if I watch his hands and time accordingly, I can get a near perfect release.

Online, I haven't found a reliable method though.

I love his release. I found its the only release in the game that is quick enough to get a perfect release as soon as he comes off a screen

I hate it online. Any release you have to concentrate on so much messes up the flow.

Exactly, his brief tenure on my team totally messed up my rhythm. Some of my shooters are still feeling the residual effects

In some ways though, it's kind of realistic. Kobe is a ball hawking kind of dude and can mess up his teammates rhythm

I used to have Onyx Kobe a few months ago and I was not able to get his release down. He usually went like 4/14 or something like that. I used to get so many messages. OMG you suck. You have Onyx Kobe and cNt even play. I sold him after trying him for 20+ games and sucking.

I decided to give him one last shot since his price dropped due to the codes and two games in he was much better. Things I noticed is that his tendencies changed and they updated his appearance (no more sleeve) He was dunking, making and 1s and all those kobe things.

If you want to know how his release is, look at the auction house and what people are willing to sell him for. A bunch hit the AH after the free item code but it's pretty interesting how many people would rather have the 300k.

I think it's mostly people want the maya to build a well rounded team. Most of the Kobes on there don't even have a single badge upgrade. I bet some people didn't even play MyTeam and are selling him to build their starter teams.
