Picked up NCAA 06 (PS2)

Nabbed this (and GTA: Vice City) off of eBay last night for under 2 bucks, so any advice about where to get rosters and a good set of sliders for this game? I do have a max drive so that should help make things a bit easier.

well I don't have an 06 roster, but that was a great game. Killer soundtrack also. Some of my best gaming memories come from NCAA 06. I play 09 now for a few reasons. 06 has some limitations (locked roster editing features, no medical redshirts, only a few mini drills), but overall the game is outstanding. I wish I could help you. I had an awesome 06 roster back in the day that I seriously regret losing. I roll with 09 on ps2. It's very good, and if you can grab it for a few bucks I could certainly hook you up with an outstanding historic roster file that you know about lol but I am also making a current 2015 roster for 09 on ps2 as well. It's pretty sweet to play with current rosters on old gen. The one thing I wish I could do would be to find someone who wants to and knows how to hex edit a ps2 roster so that I could correct duplicate jersey numbers and team rankings etc.. I could truly make an awesome roster if that was possible.

I'm sure you will find a solid 06 file. That was a great default season for rosters. Vince Young, the USC dynasty, excellent Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame teams that season (05) just a fun year to play that game. Adrian Peterson for OU was fun to run with.

i did ncaa 2007 and 2008 rosters i lost my ncca 2006 game

try and find a phil steele 2005 preview mag it has full rosters

I roll with 09 on ps2. It's very good, and if you can grab it for a few bucks I could certainly hook you up with an outstanding historic roster file that you know about.

I've had 09 since for a good while, heck I kinda ended up taking over the work on the roster that MattUM2 had done (mostly because he kinda dropped off the face of the earth or something). I'm picking up 06 just so I can have something different to mess around with every once in a while. Before getting 09 way back when, 08 was the very first NCAA game I had owned since the days of College Football USA on the Sega Genesis.

Agree 100% there. Found my copy at a Gamestop over in New Hampshire for $2 over my February break last year, and I went through and named my own rosters, as I don't own a max drive. Seeing so many names I recognized, former college stars and future NFL players alike, was so cool.

Can't forget about Purdue's 6'9 impact WR Kyle Ingraham when mentioning the greats (played pitch and catch with him all day haha), among others like a decent Tennessee team (ratings wise), Chris Leak-led Florida, and the Penn State team that saved Joe Pa's job (though ratings in this game didn't reflect that .

I just recently dusted off the orginal Xbox and have been playing NCAA 06, 07 , & 08. I love these old games. They sound and feel like real college football.

Trying to figure out which year I enjoyed the most so I can start a dynasty. Ive only had about an hour to play around with all 3 games, I cant remember the differences in them all, but so many memories and still a ton of fun to play.

Still waiting on my games to get here, I bought them late Saturday night and only this morning did I finally get the notice that they shipped. The anticipation is drivin' me batty...

One idea... You might see if gamefaqs.com might have something on this game. It would all have to be manually done, which sucks - but they used to have people there who made roster templates for various sports games that could be typed in by the user.

NCAA 06 is the greatest football game ever! I have played it consistently ever since its inception. I have played every NCAA game from 99 onwards and 06 is the masterpiece of them all. I know so much about that game that I almost created a blog just for that game alone but work and school leaves me no time to do so. Plus I'm not sure If there are enough people out there to share my knowledge with. If I had time I was even going to update the rosters for the 2014-2015 season but that would have been a massive undertaking.

Dynasty Mode on 06 is where my heart is at, and dissecting the playbooks as well. I have had a success with literally ever type of offense you can think of, and have even create a few updated ones along the way. It took me 9 years before I could perfect my defensive philosophy. As you may have heard, 06 is more offensive oriented so its crucial to have a defense that is sufficient. And don't get me started on recruiting. I still get chills whenever I recruit in that game!

I knew I had mastered the game when I won a national title with Duke in my first season, on Heisman difficulty. I don't cheese play either. I'm just that good. I should be if I put 10 years into the game though.

I have named rosters for all divisions for that game but a friend of mine has my memory card to download them.

Sadly, my ps2 acts wonky ever since I bought my new 50" Samsung TV and basically can't play it anymore. I use component cables and everything but the graphics get crappy the more I play it on the new TV. If I had a solution to the problem I would still play 06 today.

06 is awesome, but I'm curious as to how many of you played 09 on ps2? IMO it's better in terms of depth. Deeper dynasty features, 12 game schedules, medical redshirts among other features. The only thing 09 lacks that 06 has is the killer soundtrack and menu. I highly suggest some of you check out 09 as well. 07 had the terrible momentum meter, 08 had poor pursuit angles, but I really think 09 nailed it.


I've been trying to find someone who knows how to mod or hex edit a ps2 roster. I've had a hard time finding anyone. As of right now I'm making a current 2015 roster on 09 for ps2. I already have a sweet historic roster, but I love the old gameplay. With no new NCAA, and the fact that I don't work on the Buffeye roster anymore has me hungry for current NCAA football on ps2.


I've thought about starting a thread for this to see what kind of interest the community has in this. I read a thread on some footballidiot website that these guys are figuring out how to mod ps2 NCAA games to update uniforms. I haven't heard back from anyone over there yet.


I think if I could get the duplicate jersey numbers, preseason rankings, and team prestige adjusted that would be a great start. I just think if we can create current NCAA football on the ps2 it would be a lot of fun.

My games finally arrived today and I managed to find a place with the 1A, 1AA, and Historic rosters and they seem to be fairly accurate. Could probably use some minor tweaks, but I'll worry about that later. Once again, so glad I bought that Max Drive back in the day, saves me from having to enter all that info manually.

Because the PS2 is a tank and these games were so well made, I imagine we all can enjoy PS2 era football for another decade or so.

NCAA 04 and 06 are great games!

I named rosters for '09, but only for Madden draft classes. Didn't get terribly deep in any dynasty for some reason (think I maxed out at 6 seasons, only once), but I did like the features I saw. Trust me, I liked a lot on 09, but for some reason I just like 06 slightly better, can't wrap my finger around it. Better roster (player-wise) maybe? Or maybe it's the soundtrack/menus like you mentioned.

Personally, I loved 07. It was the first NCAA game I recall playing deeply, in fact I still play it more than 06/09 and did a very in-depth dynasty on this site before accidentally corrupting the file in season 4. I always tend to get 10+ seasons out of dynasties, it's just a ton of fun. I agree, momentum is messed up on Heisman difficulty, but I loved just about everything else on the game (the big exception being locked roster features like in 06).

Please keep us (or at least me) posted on the updated roster/editing possibility. I'd definitely be down for getting some 2015 rosters on both games!
