Biggest Madden Gripe
I'm a long time Madden player as most, I understand you don't want to have Rosters completely updated so you can sell Next yrs copy. But for Online gameplay they should at least update the rosters without the Drafted playersPSN: StrongIsland666Tags: None -
Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
Too much of a focus on MUT and Madden Mobile. I don't understand the appeal of a fantasy football card game (and never will).
Just give me an immersive game like M-06' PS2 with the depth of HC-09', add in some updated graphics, and I will be a happy camper.Comment

Poor basic football fundamentals, such as a lack of proper WR/DB interactions; poor OL/DL play and logic. etc etc.Comment

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
Biggest Gripe: The extreme compartmentalization of football and the fact none of the compartments work as advertised. Living worlds, war in the trenches, infinity physics (never see the same tackle twice), player sense 2.0, read and react defense, 60 calculations per second (or whatever the number was), etc....none of it works as advertised. That includes Player Stature and Player Ratings - they are advertised in the game but do not impact gameplay.
Gripe #2:
Ugly Animations lead to morphing, sliding, suction, duplicating and sequencing animations. Where's the authenticity in the Animations? Why are we still playing with the same animations every single year, I mean some of these are at least 4-5 years old which makes the game stale to look at.
Gripe #3: Graphics. This still doesn't look next gen compared to other titles, especially during night games. Night games look better on my PS2.
Gripe #4: Player models. Why does everyone look like an NBA live player? Skinny but with bulging muscles...NFL Football players don't look like that. Tony Romo isn't that ripped EA.Last edited by illiterateoption; 05-07-2015, 07:34 AM.Comment

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
Animations, Animations, Animations. Madden is so far behind it's not even funny. I don't know how long we've been asking for better running animations. They one thing happens on every plays seems to get no attention. These guys move like robots. Animations in Madden are overall stiff and not what we see on Sundays.NFL:Colts

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
I'll keep it to one, sort of, since you said biggest gripe.
Animations... individual movement, including footwork, as well as player interaction. Players just don't move anything like real NFL players. It's a major factor in ruining the spacing & timing of the game.
But the list is long. Thanks for keeping my post short.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
Haha...Animations and there isn't even a close second. It is 2015 and Madden is STILL the WORST looking sports game from an animation standpoint. Floating, sliding, terrible momentum. In a word it's just awful. While not perfect NCAA 14 is light years better than Madden.
The crossing routes where you lose control of the receiver and he just runs out of bounds. The CPU receivers running out of bounds a few yards short of the sticks with a defender nowhere in sight. The curl routes where the WR warps five yards back towards the LOS to make a catch. It's been there for years. Players float, warp, and slide in Madden.Comment

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
I have a lot of gripes but my two biggest is blocking and passing. Specifically, that you can't read blocks. The lineman block and then at some predetermined time they just quit and let their man go and you're sacked. Run blocking is the same. When you get to the line of scrimmage, lineman just release defenders for no reason. Madden needs way more animations and variety so I can tell if my blocker is getting beat inside/outside and ability to read that determines how successful I am.
Passing is just the tethered design. I hate that. It was fine for ps1 and 2, but 2k showed us route based passing is more realistic looking and advanced years ago. We should've moved on by now, probably even developed a more realistic design than RBP.
Those are the 2 that kill the game for me more than anything else.Comment

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
The lack of a simple online league mode whereI can play in a league with five friends, using only the 6 teams we choose, and 10 game season. Maybe we re-draft, maybe we use our favorite teams. Basically, what we have in NFL 2K5 and APFB 2K8.
It's neat that they finally came up with the full leagues with AI running most of the teams, that's a cool feature. But it's not what I want. This is used to be standard in all sim games i ever played.Comment

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
Just the fact that Madden is still the only new NFL game we get to choose from each year. It's just become very lazy, taking one step forward and two steps back each year. Also, the focus on MUT is annoying.Comment

Re: Biggest Madden Gripe
Overall I like Madden, I know that's not the popular answer here, but I think the franchise mode needs more options from both presentation and in the offseason. Presentation get rid of the biggest name broadcasters and find two guys who don't sound so robotic and annoying. Some of the best broadcasters in the game are found on the local radio channels every Sunday. I am someone who despises having to look through hundreds of menus, so I never really know what's going on in my league, that's why we need a weekly recap show either something like The Tony Bruno Show from past Madden's or a 2K style ESPN segment (just no daily Lebron story like the real ESPN).
For the offseason everything needs to be overhauled. The draft is boring, scouting is unrealistic, there is no combine or all star games etc.Comment
