    Does Production Matter When Scouting?

Does the player your scouting's production number actually mean anything?

I tend to view it as more accurate or comparable to predicated round/pick. So if I'm scouting say CBs I will sort the whole list by production and scout the top production guys first and work my way down, depending on how deep I want to scout.

This is how I understand it as well, regarding production and a player's projected round/pick.

It seems throughout the season, the more the production of a prospect increases or decreases (if somewhat drastically up or down), it seems that their projected round or pick changes, from where they started at the beginning of a season. I notice it happen more often when their production increases, that their projected pick is raised more towards the end of a season.

Also, it seems the early round picks, as well as the better picks in the early rounds have the higher production numbers throughout the season, from what I've seemed to notice, at least.

I don't where I read/heard this or why exactly I believe it but I thought:

        • Production=How productive they were last season. For a rookie in the draft this would refer to their senior year in college.
        • PDR-Completely unrelated to Production and simply a projection of where the player will go based on position and OVR (and possibly a few key positional stats)
