Will Teams Finally Have Different Play Style?

One thing that bothers me the most about all EA games whether it's Fifa, NHL or Madden games and I am NOT ALONE when I say this because everyone is bothered by this: Every team plays alike. This is next gen please make players/teams play differently like they do in real life. If last gen games like College Hoops can do it I don't see why can't a sports game this gen can't? No more excuses.

I remember last gen developers were saying they can't add features they want to add due to hardware or disc limitation. Well this is Next Gen there is no more excuses.

Agreed. Also in franchise mode when a team gets a new coach they should use that new coach's playbook and scheme.

They'd only add different playing styles to the stars of the league. Remember when the world was astonished that Peyton Manning took the whole play clock calling audibles and Omahas in Madden like he does in real life? How frustrating was going against him in Madden lol

But yet Marshawn Lynch runs like Jamal Charles...I want to see each team and each players play differently.

Agreed. Teams play way too similar. They should at least add the no huddle option NCAA had as teams will use that - some more than others. And not just inside 2 minutes.

Re: Will Teams Finally Have Different Play Style?

Until they mess with gameplans and use them to their full capability most teams will pretty much play the same. So many playbooks have slants and curls for every situation and out of multiple formations that it kills a lot of the variety. You've got them only using 20 plays per situation when it can be unlimited and then almost a quarter of them are the same two plays. It's really a shame too because they could create custom coaches with crazy playbooks that come into CFM and bring some life and it just doesn't happen and to make it worse you can't apply custom gameplans/playbooks to the CPU in CFM.

Yes and they also need to understand that there's a difference between no huddle and hurry up. Look at the Broncos vs Eagles. No huddle, but very different tempo

Re: Will Teams Finally Have Different Play Style?

Nope, I am willing to bet a large sum of money that the problem persists. At its heart Madden has always been a pvp game so anything that makes games vs the AI more enjoyable is placed on the back burner.

Each year since they added the "gameplan" feature I've been checking the set ups for each team and it is pathetic. Moreso for defense but offense is not good either.

For defenses there seems to be 3 templates. The basic mix of man and zone (primarily cover 3) used by 75% of the NFL, zone blitzes (Steelers and maybe 1 or 2 other teams) and balls out man blitz defense (Rex Ryan's Jets may have been the only team to have a truly unique defense). A few teams may have a few spins on it, but check them out. All the same. I seem to recall that even cover 2 teams ran mostly man and cover 3.

Offense is bad to. Each team's gameplan shares roughly 75% of plays, with some teams having a handful of their own plays. Madden tries to trick us by changing the name of some plays as well. There are some plays that are in 80% of playbooks, but the name changes from team to team. It may be called Falcon Outs, Ravens Outs, or to the rest of the league -- slot outs.

And since the brilliant AI does not seem to change their approach based on their opponent and the user's tendencies, every game plays out the same.

To clarify, I'm not talking about playbooks, but the gameplan set up for each team.
